Its shatter-resistant opal ¼" (6 mm) thick Plexiglas top gives maximum light diffusion and minimum glare, with no hot spots. All light boxes contain 5000K 90–92 CRI lamps that provide excellent graphic arts quality color. The 10" × 12" light box with one bulb (55309-1001) does not include a reflector. All other light boxes come with a reflector in the lamp to enhance the illumination.

Porta-Trace has a rust-resistant steel frame and aluminum chassis. (Sizes 10" × 12" and 11" × 18" do not have handles.) It requires 115V AC current, grounded, and it includes a 6 foot, 3 wire electric cord with grounding plug. UL listed.

Porta-Trace's 18" × 24" and 24" × 36" sizes are equipped with a back leg and rubber feet for tilting. The 18" × 24" model is shown here.

Nylon Carrying Case — Ideal for storing or transporting your Portra-Trace box. Constructed of durable black nylon with an inside pocket, zipper closure, and handle. For the 10" × 12" steel, or the 12" × 14" oak box.

Replacement Bulbs — These Color Correct 5000K, 90-92 CRI (Color Rendering Index) bulbs conform to the ANSI standard PH 2.30-1989and Eastman Kodak Company's CIS-152 recommendations for excellent color rendering for graphic arts color quality and photographers transparency, negative, and slide viewing.

I bought my last light box so long ago that I forget the brand name, but the Gagne is a major improvement. The work surface is evenly lit and the bulb never flickers. The only downside is it takes a couple seconds to light up, but that is a very, very small quibble. I love working on it.

The design allows for full use of the top for tracing. Four bulbs really produce a bright work space. This product is lightweight and easy to carry. It takes a few seconds to start each set of bulbs, but not too bad.

It's being used for sand animation. The protective cover is perfect so as not to scratch the plexiglass. Love it.
