These canvas pliers offer wide jaws that stretch but do not mar the canvas because of the rubber grippers. Plastic coverings on the handles make using the pliers easy on the hands. I almost hesitate saying this, but these pliers were half the cost of very similar ones at a local "discount" art supply store.

The tool works as expected and is highly recommended!

Just received these canvas pliers and only tried them so far on two linen panels 22x32 & 22x36. Got a nice tight stretch and the wide jaws helped make it go very quickly. I would have like a little deeper squared off knob on the bottom jaw, it's too short and rounded causing it to slip sometimes. I'm sure there is a name for this piece? I use it as a fulcrum against the wood bar to draw the canvas tight. My old pair had a nice one that made it easy to control the amount of tension on the canvas.
The big problem was I had to constantly push the red rubber coating on the handles back on and at times I had to reset the grip because of this. I'm going to try some glue, maybe contact cement, to see if I can get them to stay in place. If so they will be a great set.
