Great inexpensive option when you want canvas
from North Salem
Comments about Fredrix Cut Edge Canvas Panels:
I used this to teach a class to 8-12 year olds, it was great and held up to lots of paint. It is a great affordable option when you want the look and feel of canvas but a lower price point.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The WORST canvas panels EVER
By Plein Air Cedar
from Paonia, CO
The Fredrix Cut Edge Canvas Panels are flimsy, warp so bad they could break in pieces and are junky nasty poor quality items. Fredrix usually makes pretty good canvas products so I thought I would give these a try for plein air studies and experiments in oil. No way, they will not hold up. I can't even carry them stacked horizontally without worrying they will snap apart. I can image they will warp inside my wet panel carrier and touch and schmeer each other. I would also have to prime them with gesso at least one more time for them to be usable.I listed them overpriced because they are a total waste of money as they are unusable. I was going to return them for something else but the postage for them was more than they cost.Never buy them they are really poor quality. You will be as disappointed as I was in their flimsy warping selves.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

not as advertised ..
By landscape painter
from Torrey, Utah
These panels are advertised as having a innovative backing .. sturdy and firm. They are not .. the backing is just a thin colored cardboard not even coated with anything. The 12x12 I purchased is floppy and not firm at all. I will use them for testing colors .. a pad of canvas paper would do just as well as these. Surprising poor for Fredrix .. their regular canvas panels are much much better than these. Too bad these are so horrible.
Merchant response: We're sorry to hear that these panels didn't meet your expectations, and we're happy to assist you with a return or exchange. One of our Customer Care Agents will be reaching out via email to see how we can help.
not like the description at all
The description says these panels have an innovative backing .. firm. They are not. The backing is just cheap colored thin cardboard. And the 12x12 is quite flexible.. not stiff. The sides will be prone to deterioration if not protected with paint. Fredrix regular canvas panels are much stronger and better. Too bad ..was really looking forward to a strong thin cut canvas panel.
Merchant response: We're sorry to hear that these panels aren't of the quality you expected. A member of our Customer Care Team will be reaching out via email to assist you.
Great for crafts
from Florence, AL
I used the 2 3/4 X 2 3/4 black canvases to make magnets during VBS at our church. The kids loved it and they were perfect for what I needed.
from San Diego, CA
These were recommended by my plein air teacher. I liked the size and they were light weight which was perfect for plein air painting.
