The canvas would not take the colors. Even after drying the colors smeared. Its like using a oil canvas with watercolor paints.
I was expecting the color to blend like most watercolor paper.

Liftability: I painted watercolor and India Ink on mine and I was pleasantly surprised by how liftable the paint was. Almost back to the white of the canvas. The whole painting can be rinsed off and start again or just a section and doesn't show that you did it.
Ease of Use: Paints move slower than on watercolor paper and have to be coaxed more to do what you want it to do (with your brush), but maintains a watercolor appearance.
Seal It: A must if you want to keep what you painted. Watercolor paints lifts very easily. Even when completely dry. So seal it with a non-yellowing matte finish SPRAY sealer and it will no longer be liftable.
My only complaint: I would like to have it available on deeper canvas (more than 3/4" thick). The larger canvases need it in my opinion.
A Bonus: Makes a cool sound when the brush hits it. Almost a musical, drum-like sound.

Finding watercolor specific canvas is extremely difficult and when you do find it, the materials are very expensive. I was thrilled to find Fredrix watercolor canvases in various sizes at less than half the retail price. Shipping was quick and the product arrived in excellent condition. Thanks Blick art supplies!

I enjoy working in watercolor and am please to have a large watercolor canvas to paint on. Using watercolor pads limited the size to 18" x 24". The canvases that I ordered are 24" x 36". They will not require a mat, can be framed or not and do not require glass.

i paint with miscible oil and it is the best canvas I have found.It is so smooth and takes water real well.

I just completed my first project using Fredrix Prestretched Watercolor Canvas and I was very pleased with the results. I used watercolor pencil and the colors were luminous. After reading reviews from others who used pen and ink, I can't wait to try that as well. This is a wonderful alternative to watercolor paper.

I love working with this canvas. I work with acrylics, acryla, and am beginning to work in non-toxic oil pastel with water, water miscible oils, and pen and ink again using this canvas, the canvas pads, and the rolled canvas. I've worked with other top lines, but did not have nor like the results. I have to have a canvas that accepts products used with water and this one does it all. The results are beautiful. I spray the canvas lightly with a fine water mist before I begin painting that makes it easy for a nice finished work. For anyone with allergies working with water based or miscible products I would certainly give this line a try. I'm glad I did.

It is very versatile and easy to use. It takes a little getting used to if you have only been using watercolor paper, but once you get the hang of it, it is great.

The Fredrix Watercolor Canvas is a really good alternative to regular watercolor paper, and I intend to switch between the two regularly.
