Disappointed with design

I purchased these scissors to cut canvas but I was attracted by the multiple uses built in to the design. That turned out to be what I disliked. If you open the scissors any wider than is shown in the image, you discover a notch in the bottom blade that matches the curved notch in the upper blade. If you try to cut canvas or paper with this section of the blades you don't get smooth cuts. So the image depicts about how much of the scissor blades one can use and get smooth, straight results. The bottom line is that I ended up with a large scissors that functions like a small scissors in terms of efficiency.

To be clear, the scissors seems well constructed and fairly priced. But they are more of a jack-of-all-trades and thus a master of none.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
