Great papers but need to take more care in shipping
I use these papers for pastel and charcoal portraits. Paper is great if you shipped it more carefully. I had it reordered due to paper being wrinkled but the second batch was aslo wrinkled just not as bad. Got tired of waiting and just kept it. I realize these papers can be very delicate but if handled with care before it goes in the box, it can be shipped in better condition.Blick is a great company to deal with. Selection and price are top notch. This is the only complaint Ive ever had.
Photo album pages and artwork
By Judith from CT
Five or six years ago I started reworking an old photograph album. You know, black pages, b&w photos with black stick on corners. I needed an acid free paper that accepted white ink and wasn't flimsy. I also needed some pages to accept colored pencil artwork (Derwent Studio) and white India ink for maps. This paper fits my needs perfectly. I had to cut the paper to size, so I can tell you that it makes a beautiful edge that doesn't fray or go wimpy. I layer with colored pencil and the surface took blending beautifully and never shredded. The pages ended up looking better than the original and now I know the album will keep for years if stored properly.I want to add that a D. Black rep arranged for a small set of samples of this paper to be sent to me at no charge. The paper I ordered was shipped flat , not rolled.

gorgeous colors, beautiful texture!
from Ithaca, NY
We used this paper for an array of 3-D folded stars as liturgical art for our church. The colors are really dramatic when lit, and the paper was lovely to work with--just the right texture, finish, weight. It's great to have such a wide selection of colors.

we screenprint on this paper and it takes the ink well. cost is fair, we're happy with it.
Just what I needed!
from West Warren, MA
Needed Fabriano/Tiziano paper for a vignette. The right stuff at the right price. The only drawback was the shipping and handling; I wished were cheaper than the item itself. But I understand it needed such protection.
excellent quality paper
Paper was bought to cut into size for zentangle drawing. It is excellent quality and feels the same as the zentangle paper sold on line. I will buy this again.

Works with paint, can't say that of every paper! The nearest Dick Blick store had one sheet of the Fabriano pale blue felt. The display said it could take light washes. Painting with gouache and acrylic. It holds up very well. I've since ordered two batches online. They arrived in perfect shape. Should note that the paper is Italian, measurement is metric, so it was a fraction short of true 20 by 26 inches. One side works a bit better than other, but if I mess up on better side, I can use the reverse.

Great for gouache
from Arkansas Ozark Mountains
I use this to make pamphlet-style books for use with goauche. It takes the paint well, only minor buckllng and it dries flat. The paper folds and sews well, too, and is thick enough to provide support without being so thick it's difficult to make into a useable book.I like having the range of colors as supports for the gouache--the charcoal, felt gray and black are especially nice.
