Welcome to dickblick
These Pitt Artist Pens contain the same high-quality pigmented India Ink as the original Pitt Artist Pens, but with Big Brush nibs for full coverage or narrow, detailed strokes. Each Big Brush pen contains four times the amount of ink found in regular Pitt Artist Pens.
They are excellent for large artwork or for sketching, journaling, cartooning, and drawing. The acid-free, archival ink is smudgeproof, waterproof, and won't bleed through paper.
Filled with odorless opaque white India ink, this pen has a durable bullet-shaped nib giving artists the freedom to create broad, medium, or narrow strokes with an even application of color.

A new size to me. Flows like a brush, it handles well, I'm going to enjoy doing larger projects!
Not a marker persoon
from Santa Rosa, CA
I'm more of a colored pencil person. All the paint, water-based, and alcohol-based markers do some cool stuff, just not so much for me. I went for Pit because it is india ink instead of the others. And once dry is permanent which is great for mixed media. I really prefer the large barrel size in my arthritic fingers since it allow greater control... not to mention they are easier to pickup from my art table. I've seen the smearing demoed around the web but am finding it really depends on the paper, especially since there's so little humidity where I live. The colors I picked up are good until I got to the greys. The warm grey 3 is light while the 5 is not even an off-black it's so dark -- warm grey 4 could be a mid grey or not. The cold grey 3 on the other hand is a mid-grey while the 6 is solid off-black. Weird. Pit does have an uneven color range since inks just aren't like paint or other pigments. I was surprised to see a range of greys because of this. I just didn't anticipate that the warm and cold greys are not in similar tonal ranges.

These pens are awesome. I love their blendability but once dry they are permanent and the color range is extensive! I use these in my mixed media regularly. There is nothing that is a downside to these pens.

Love these pens!
from Northern CA.
Bought some of the basic colors for mixed media canvas work. Absolutely love them and will buy more colors I'm sure. They are crisp, clear and clean. Very pleased with this buy!
Great Marker, but gets dull with hard pressure
from minneapolis, mn
I use the cold grey for shading my caricatures. This pen works great for its purpose and its large size lasts me through many a drawing. The only downside is the felt tip wears out with and becomes less sharp with use. If you are looking for a really solid brush tip marker, I would go with Copic or prismacolor. If you aren't too worried about razor sharp lines, this marker is a great value!

Just can't express how happy with the selection of Faber-Castell Pitt Big Brush Artist Pens this site has...Price was fantastic as well. Will be back to buy more
What a great product
I like to use them as final touches to my art work, without getting involved in my paints and brushes. A lot more control for final touches.Being transparent helps not overpowering the main work. They last a long too unless left open(then will dry).Overall I just like them a lot.
Did 17 portraits and still had ink in the Pens
from Cleveland, Ohio
Doing portraits annually for the Homeless Stand Down in Cleveland and find that these markers and b lack and grey tones are superb, do not bleed with the right kind of paper and the ink does not dry up or run out because of great use.

True color's, long lasting and light fastness! So my Ink sketches last a lifetime!
Pigmented India Ink in multiple nib sizes and 48 colors brings great versatility to
pen-and-ink drawings requiring lots of intricate details. Pitt Artist Pens are great
for sketching, journaling, cartooning, and drawing. The Superfine, Fine, Medium, and Brush nibs not
only replace ink bottles — they're instantly available for work. The ink is
waterproof, unsurpassably lightfast, acid-free, and pH-neutral. The nib
size is prominently displayed on the end of the cap.
