These Pitt Artist Pens contain the same high-quality pigmented India Ink as the original Pitt Artist Pens, but with Big Brush nibs for full coverage or narrow, detailed strokes. Each Big Brush pen contains four times the amount of ink found in regular Pitt Artist Pens.
They are excellent for large artwork or for sketching, journaling, cartooning, and drawing. The acid-free, archival ink is smudgeproof, waterproof, and won't bleed through paper.
Filled with odorless opaque white India ink, this pen has a durable bullet-shaped nib giving artists the freedom to create broad, medium, or narrow strokes with an even application of color.

I use these markers ocassionally for coloring wide spaces or for embellishing other work. They do and do not layer well. For one thing, you can shade and alter the color by adding layers. On the other hand, you can't do too many layers before it starts to shred even the strongest marker paper. Moreover, you may create "layers" or streaky color without even trying because the marker is so sensitive to itself and fades after application. The volume of ink is good and they never run out on me. The tip is flexible and makes for a wide variety of strokes and uses. They are good for calligraphy, as well.Do NOT use these pens as liners and then apply a marker coloring. Alcohol based markers (and potentially water based markers, too) will smear the heck out of them.
Best for Highlights in Drawlings
I'm using the White Faber-Castell Pitt Big Brush Artist Pens for highlighting my art in my Smashbook Art Journaling group and Art Class I'm in this year. love the flexibility of the tip that produces beautiful lines with no special effort. These pens are great to work with. They blend well and I can use them in many different projects.

Mkay, so, I've seen these in-person at several art stores. And they're always in the high price range. Which, okay, I guess coupons help. But this beautiful, amazing thing was cheaper than coupon price on Dick Blick's site and it was calling out to me. I'm SO happy with this item. I love to use markers and such, and I have tons of different colors of art board. My main use for the white marker is laying down a foundation that will allow me to color like normal on a toned/colored/patterned board. I have another brand (an art store's generic brand) that did an OKAY job, meaning, if I did too many coats for my white surface, I'd get this gross, glossy white out-like texture I could do nothing with. But with this Pitt Big Brush pen, I don't have to use as many coats, and I actually have a surface that still holds marker ink! This is also an excellent item for adding highlights over other media (marker, colored pencil, inks, some paints, etc.). 10/10, definitely recommend.
Great drawing tools.
I am an artist so I draw daily. This is one of my favorite sketching tool. I love the flexibility of the tip that produces beautiful lines with no special effort. This is for sure on my shopping list for a long time.

The pens are easy to use. I like the size. Th points work for enhancing my prints. The red could be a deeper shade. The green is perfect.
A+ in India ink class
from Los Banos,CA
I enjoy using the Faber-Castell Pitt Big Brush Artist Pens. I saw them being used one day online and they looked like heaven . The way they work when you are trying new techniques with them are just beautiful. They are India Ink so you have a small window of time to work with them. The Big Brush Pens match a lot of other ink brands out there so that makes it useful for stamping with them or the India Ink. It Cleans up fine with a baby wipe since they are water based ink. They are my go to markers!

Big pitt pens
By Ms. Silk
I love these pens whether fixing uneven stamped images, providing shadow/outlines,coloring stamped or drawn images. But i think coloring an acrylic block with the pens, then adding water & painting like watercolor whether with a brush or directly from the block is my favorite way to use them. The colors remain vibrant & permanent when dry unlike true watercolors that reactivate when wet.
Pigmented India Ink in multiple nib sizes and 48 colors brings great versatility to
pen-and-ink drawings requiring lots of intricate details. Pitt Artist Pens are great
for sketching, journaling, cartooning, and drawing. The Superfine, Fine, Medium, and Brush nibs not
only replace ink bottles — they're instantly available for work. The ink is
waterproof, unsurpassably lightfast, acid-free, and pH-neutral. The nib
size is prominently displayed on the end of the cap.
