These Pitt Artist Pens contain the same high-quality pigmented India Ink as the original Pitt Artist Pens, but with Big Brush nibs for full coverage or narrow, detailed strokes. Each Big Brush pen contains four times the amount of ink found in regular Pitt Artist Pens.
They are excellent for large artwork or for sketching, journaling, cartooning, and drawing. The acid-free, archival ink is smudgeproof, waterproof, and won't bleed through paper.
Filled with odorless opaque white India ink, this pen has a durable bullet-shaped nib giving artists the freedom to create broad, medium, or narrow strokes with an even application of color.

I loved these pens!

Comments about Faber-Castell Pitt Big Brush Artist Pens:
I used these for a Mother's Day project in my class. Kids made fingerprints on a mini canvas using acyrilic paint and then added finishing details with these pens so they looked like flowers and butterflies. (An idea off of Pinterest.) Each and every one turned out beautifully. These pens were perfect and easy for the kids to use.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I love these pens for larger art projects where the brush comes in handy. I also have a whole set of the fine line pens. Haven't found anything better than these!
These pens last a long time, I've had some for years and they have not dried up, just ordered reinforcements:). Great for mixed media.
NIce colors and size.
I'm using the brushes for coloring/writing in my art journal and card making.

This was my first online purchase from DickBlick and plan on buying more online. I use to go to the store but found they wouldn't have what I wanted in stock. Considering the store is over 30 miles away I rarely get out that way. I might have had to wait for my products but worth it.
The Big Brush is a big must have!
from Carlsbad, NM
I just purchased another black Big Brush pen to replace the one I gave to my mother. She really liked it so I gave it to her, but now I am left without this essential piece of my drawing toolbox and I wanted it back! This pen has a wonderful lifetime and just keeps going. I use it mainly for coloring in large areas and it works wonders in that regard. As someone who had to use the regular brush pen to do said tasks before this pen was introduced, I was very pleased that Faber-Castell produced this pen. Now I just need a Big Brush box-set with all the colors!
I have bought these many times

I use these markers ocassionally for coloring wide spaces or for embellishing other work. They do and do not layer well. For one thing, you can shade and alter the color by adding layers. On the other hand, you can't do too many layers before it starts to shred even the strongest marker paper. Moreover, you may create "layers" or streaky color without even trying because the marker is so sensitive to itself and fades after application. The volume of ink is good and they never run out on me. The tip is flexible and makes for a wide variety of strokes and uses. They are good for calligraphy, as well.Do NOT use these pens as liners and then apply a marker coloring. Alcohol based markers (and potentially water based markers, too) will smear the heck out of them.
Pigmented India Ink in multiple nib sizes and 48 colors brings great versatility to
pen-and-ink drawings requiring lots of intricate details. Pitt Artist Pens are great
for sketching, journaling, cartooning, and drawing. The Superfine, Fine, Medium, and Brush nibs not
only replace ink bottles — they're instantly available for work. The ink is
waterproof, unsurpassably lightfast, acid-free, and pH-neutral. The nib
size is prominently displayed on the end of the cap.
