I've bought these pens at a local art store for use in inking pencil drawings prior to coloring with marker. I love the nib sizes and have never had a problem with ink flow. I also like how the ink doesn't bleed, even when going over it with marker after the fact.

My only real problem with these pens is the darkness of the ink itself. The pigment seems to 'set' into the paper as it dries, and the result is a coaly-brown looking line rather than a nice bold, dark line. It just does not dry like a true black. I've never used the colored pens so I don't know if these have the same problem, but I've been through a couple of replacements for the fine nibbed black, and the fading effect is pretty consitent. I think I'll be going back to the drawing board and looking for a different pen to ink with from now on.

I own a set of four black PITT pens, including a brush pen and medium to very fine nibs. I've rarely used the other nibs in my work, but I love the brush nib for doing lineart, calligraphy and lettering for its smooth, organic line. My only complaint about the brush nib is that it wears out quickly, but I've found that the lifespan of the brush nib can be doubled by pulling the nib out with tweezers and inserting it the other way for a fresh nib. I theorize that the nib may also be sharpened with an exacto knife, but I've never tried it.

I bought this pen and about a dozen others while I was looking for a good drawing pen; I saw it on Core77 and heard good things, so I gave it a shot.
First off, this pen looks and feels great; it's comfortable to hold, and it really stands out. It has great ink flow, and can lay down a variety of line weights. For writing, it's no doubt a fantastic pen. For drawing though, it leaves a bit to be desired, since it doesn't handle long lines well, and the nib tends to dry out or clog fairly easily, especially if you make multiple passes over the same line.
All in all, it's a good pen, but maybe stick to writing notes with it.

I am just starting to draw again after a 40 year break.
These pens were recommended highly and i have not been disappointed. Just like drawing in ink and the nibs can be used to shade as well as a fine point. You can also smudge even though they dry quickly. Another bonus is no smell. Absolutely wonderful for creating an ink look with a drawing feel. Nibs do not lose shape either, they bounce back.Excellent!!

I need pens for Pen & Ink work. These have terrible flow and very weak ink color and texture.
I have to draw extra slowly to get a continuous line and in the end it's not even that deep of a pigment.

The pens are very ordinary, actually worse than some cheap pens you can get at Staples that are not even designed for artwork.

I always used these (add to the list all the other ones you can find at AcMoore or Michaels) and I didn't realized how bad these were until I learned that there is such thing as rapidograph, pro pens with a true black and a steady flow.

I thought I was buying "art pens" and in fact I should have actually looked at the quality instead of the marketing/brand.

NEVER AGAIN. so not worth to even bother with this quality.

I purchased two medium tips, and two brush tips, to try them out. I thought the brush tips were great, no complaints, both the larger brush-tip as well as the smaller. HOWEVER, I found the medium tips and the pens in general to have a plastic, lightweight feel, didn't like using them for this reason. Found the Prismacolor pens have a better feel (at least for me). I will continue to use and buy the brush-tips, and would suggest anyone looking at pigmented pens to buy a few different ones from each supplier and see for themselves. They're cheap enough, long-lasting, so no more alcohol markers for me. Thank you.

They seem to hold a lot of ink and the tips most of the time are solid enough to color in with and hold up yet flexible enough to be comfortable to draw with. Great colors and finliners are awesome. No blurbs or blead outs. Even ink and solid tips. I use these pens exclusively. I am an artist of many years, and have used many pens. You have a great product.

Bought this as a gift for my granddaughter and she loved it. The price was reasonable, ordering was easy, and it came quickly and safely. I have had good service from Blick and I always check their online catalog when one of my 7 granddaughters requests art materials as a gift.
