Excellent choice intro to color for childrenZ
Comments about Faber-Castell Connector Watercolor Paints:
This was purchased as a birthday gift for my four old niece. This has proved to be an excellent tool for introduction to color. I suggest the 24 color set, as children are unfamiliar with color mixing.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Nice but what's up with the red?
By Art Teacher
The paint is amazing. I am so happy at the quality and how pure the colors are. I gave them 4 stars only because I am not sure what is up with the red. It is vermillion which is a deep red orange. I really am surprised it is not a scarlet red. It reads as deep orange when you use it on white paper. Otherwise, I love this set. One person said it isn't for kids and that might be because of the price but I absolutely love it for students. It will be really nice to pop out and re-order only the colors we need.

Not Your Kid's Watercolors.....
from Whidbey Island
The more Faber-Castell products I try, the more devoted I become to the company. I sent these water colors to my adult niece, and within a few days, she had created several wonderful pieces, so I ordered one of the paint sets for myself. The case lid has compartments which make a wonderful travel palette, and the interior middle compartment easily stores a few of your favorite brushes and maybe a small sponge. The water color cakes mix well and thoroughly with just a tiny bit of water. There are no pigment lumps and coverage is smooth and vivid; control is easily yours and you can make one heavy layer or at least two thin layers of color. The paints blend well with coloring pencils, watercolor pencils, or more professional watercolor tube paints. These are just fun!
NOT Your Kid's Watercolors!
The more Faber-Castell products I use, the more devoted I become to this company. I love their coloring pencils, so I thought I'd give these watercolors a try. They are amazing. With just a minuscule amount of water, you have a wonderful medium comparable to the higher quality, more expensive water colors in the tubes. The colors provide instant, amazing, richly hued coverage. They are so easy to "control" that I can apply a single, thorough top coat, or I can layer several thin coats. The pigments go on smoothly, without bumps or gaps typical of other water color cakes. The long, clear cover has compartments that turn it into a user-friendly palette. These watercolors blend beautifully with coloring pencils or watercolor pencils. I accidentally bought two and now I'm thrilled I did. I was so impressed that I immediately sent a set to my niece, who fell in love with them as well, and quickly did several large portraits of local wildlife. My only complaint is the color palette is limited, but since they work so well with other mediums, it's not a major problem.
