Carbide Point Scribe — The perfect tool for drypoint, this metal-handled, carbide point scribe measures 6" (152 mm) long and can be resharpened.

Diamond Point Scribe — The perfect tool for drypoint. The high-quality industrial diamond tipped scribe produces fine lines on zinc or copper and can also etch glass. This pencil-style tool has a tempered steel tip with a diamond point attached to a wood handle.

Double Point Scribe — This cork handled etching needle has a traditional, double-edged steel tip and a comfortable grip. This handle is ideal for both beginning artists and seniors who have trouble grasping the traditional thin etching needle.

Twisted Etching Needle — a crossover hit in the world of modeling, moldmaking, and sgrafitto. Solid steel, 7" (178 mm) long. Tapered point on both ends.

My students and I are quite pleased with the etching tool recently purchased. I teach the traditional form of Byzantine-Russian Iconography and find this tool the best for inscribing the image on the gesso board. The incision is the right depth, not too deep. The feel of the wooden handle is smooth and not painful at all as it can be with the stell scribers. We are pleased and recommend it highly.

I'm taking an Intro to Printmaking class and my teacher was very vague about our supply list, so I just grabbed whatever seemed important from Dick Blick and this tool was a winner! Sturdy and useful for a good price.
