Pop this clever little Escoda Reserva travel brush into a pocket or plein air box. It's ready for the road at a moment's notice!

Hidden within its golden chamber resides a regular length, pure Escoda Kolinsky-Tajmyr sable brush. Named after an exact location in Siberia, Escoda Tajmyr sable is unusually resilient, holds sharp points and crisp edges, and has terrific color holding capacity.

As a measure of size, when closed, the #6 brush measures 4" and extends to over 7" when the handle is reversed. The brush handle is black wood with a lacquered finish. The golden brass ferrule crimps a round pointed sable hair that handles delicate details with ease.

Note — Brush sizes are not standardized. The length and width of a brush of a given shape and size varies considerably by manufacturer. Since fine art brushes are handmade, expect some variation even among brushes from a given manufacturer.

I have been putting together a compact watercolor kit for traveling. These brushes are first rate and cost less than alternatives like Da Vinci. They are a little bigger than Da Vinci's, but they are balanced like a good Kolinski sable brush. Great addition for the traveling watercolor artist.

I use these brushes with an under glaze for my pottery designs.I love the brush itself gives exactly the delicate lines I need. I love especially love the protective top that fits over and protects the bristles.... I carry my brushes to different studios and need not worry about harming the brush in any way....
