Welcome to dickblick
Escoda's Prado Tame synthetic offers varying lengths and diameters of a new high-performance filament that has been perfectly blended to perform exactly like a pure sable brush.
Excellent for oil, acrylic, or watercolor, the snap and color-carrying capacity of these brushes are outstanding. Unlike other brushmakers, Escoda cures each handcrafted brush to achieve excellent snap and resiliency.
Each brush features a triple-crimped nickel-plated brass ferrule, attached to a long burgundy lacquered wood handle.
Set of 6 — This six-piece, long-handled set includes brights in sizes 6, 10, and 14, and rounds in sizes 2, 6, and 10.
Brush sizes — The length and width of a brush of a given shape and size may vary by manufacturer as brush sizes are not standardized. Since fine art brushes are handmade, expect some variation even among brushes from within a single brush line.

I love the Escoda Prado Brushes
By James Hill
from Houston, TX
A year or so ago I received a sample Prado brush as part of a promotion through Blick's. This brush quickly proved its handling, quality, and reliablity and moved its way to the top of my favorite brushes. Since then I have accumulated a collection of Escoda Prado brushes ranging from size 0 to size 20 and they have pushed my other brushes aside to become my daily users for watercolor and gouache with one exception. The exeption are my 1/2" and 1" wash brushes - I would love to acquire the Prado flat wash brushes in these sizes, but unfortunately Blick's does not carry them at this time, and due to distribution agreements I can't obtain them directly from Barcelona. Blick's, if you're reading this PLEASE add the Prado flat wash brushes to your line! Thanks!
A GREAT brush!

Truly well made.
Very nice synthetic brush
I use a combination of natural hair and synthetic brushes. The Escoda Prado brushes are a very nice synthetic. The bristles flex and spring back similar to a sable brush and hold paint nicely. A really good value.

Did not realize it was going to be such a heavy brush. Quality of the bristles is good. It will take some getting used to
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I adore my Escoda brushes
By Kelly C
from Redmond, WA
I received several of these for free with purchase of other items. I dismissed them. I have a set of Escoda sable brushes that I adore and I couldn't see any reason to use these. Then I started painting in acrylics. These are so far beyond any of my other synthetic brushes. They are just firm enough and just flexible enough. They maintain a beautiful point. I'm not sure how they would fair with heavy body paint but I love them for design work. I wound up buying several more sizes and now I don't use anything else.
The Quality is Top Notch
from North Coast, OR
The only Escoda brush I haven't been thrilled with is one of their tiny brights in the Robusto line. It's too stiff for fine detail, but it hasn't been relegated to the 'meh' brush holder either. It's fine for making scratchy marks for grass and hair. I can't say enough good things about Escoda brushes. Whenever I feel like doing something nice for myself, I add a new Escoda brush to my cart!
Solid synthetic watercolor brush
from Greensboro, NC
I've been trying to land the perfect synthetic watercolor brush for years as I paint a lot of animals and it feels wrong to use animal hair. As a result, I have a lot of fails that are now in my pile of junk brushes. Most do not hold their shape, separate, or do not hold water/paint for a smooth stroke. I found Escoda Prada to be the best synthetic brush so far. I haven't tried them all, but this is a keeper for me. They last a good while and keep their shape nicely. I'll keep buying Escoda until something better comes along.
