Welcome to dickblick
Perla Toray White is perhaps the finest quality soft synthetic fiber available for artists. It keeps an excellent edge for a soft, yet controlled application.
Escoda cures each brush to increase the spring and resilience of the hair.
The long, gray-lacquered wood handle is triple crimped to the nickel-plated brass ferrule. The nylon filaments vary in diameter to allow for a more natural point and appearance.
Brush sizes — The length and width of a brush of a given shape and size may vary by manufacturer as brush sizes are not standardized. Since fine art brushes are handmade, expect some variation even among brushes from within a single brush line.
Long and Short Handles — Long handles are recommended for easel style painting, while short handles are recommended for table-top painting where the artwork lies flat, especially with water media.

Comments about Escoda Perla Toray White Synthetic Round:
I was recommended to get this brush by my instructor. Given other brushes in the area, I think this is a pretty good deal. I'm just a beginner, but it's really easy to use.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Brush is ok, not perfect but good enough to work with. It's quite stiff. Not a bad one btw.
I love these brushes

I have tried a lot of watercolor brushes of the last couple of years but I came back to these Escoda Perlas. They just seem to suit my style. They hold a lot of water and release it well. Can't find a better brush!
Escoda the great
Escoda is known for their finest quality brushes and this collection is no different. The bristles are clean, smooth, and strong with a medium snap. It also lasts a long time if taken care of properly (cleaning, etc). Definitely recommend this brand and brush, you can be sure of their superior quality and longevity you can trust.
Escoda Perla are excellent brushes.

Escoda Perla brushes are outstanding for watercolor. They hold a great deal of paint and clean easily. It is a pleasure working with these brushes as they respond quickly and retain their shape.
I am a beginner as such I don't have a lot to compare to, but I really like these brushes (I bought #16, 8 & 4 toray rounds). They hold their points and a lot of water/paint. Have become the only ones I use for watercolor. The only thing I dislike an it's just aesthetics, is the nice white bristles quickly stain and even items such as the masters brush cleaner can't remove the stains from the white. It just drives me a little crazy, but it doesn't effect the brush / painting at all.

One of my new favorites
from Columbia sc
I am on a quest to find my favorite synthetic watercolor brushes- so I waited for blick to have a sale and I bought one from several lines that had great reputations and reviews. I bought a size 8 round and have used it for about a week. I am very impressed with this brush. It has a very nice point and is soft but still springs back into shape effortlessly. The handle is lovely and feels nice in my hand. I kind of hate that bristles are white though because they're already tinged pink from my paint. It's not a huge problem I just keep thinking I have pigment left on the brush. I will definitely try more from this range on my next brush order.#sweepstakes
I used to use only natural hair brushes, but the Perla line is my go to brush for my watercolor work. I like the largest sizes especially. The take a lot of abuse and hold a good point. I use the rounds.
Not good for watercolor

Comments about Escoda Perla Toray White Synthetic Short Handle:
I don't like this brush for watercolor, it is very stiff and not absorbent. It tends to flick the paint, does not flow well.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Merchant response: Thank you for your review. We're sorry to hear that this brush isn't working out for you. Although the Toray filaments are soft and fine, they have a rapid spring, and we understand if this is not to your liking.
