Welcome to dickblick
Perla Toray White is perhaps the finest quality soft synthetic fiber available for artists. It keeps an excellent edge for a soft, yet controlled application.
Escoda cures each brush to increase the spring and resilience of the hair.
The long, gray-lacquered wood handle is triple crimped to the nickel-plated brass ferrule. The nylon filaments vary in diameter to allow for a more natural point and appearance.
Long and Short Handles — Long handles are recommended for easel style painting, while short handles are recommended for table-top painting where the artwork lies flat, especially with water media.

"I would be lost without these Escoda brushes"
from Cape Coral, Florida
Comments about Escoda Perla Toray White Synthetic Short Handle:
The absolute "top of the line for synthetic brushes". These brushes take a beating and come back for more. The fact that the point retains it's sharpness is perhaps "the" most wonderful thing about it. Of course, with everything, there's always personal preference, but with specific styles of painting in watercolor, these are far better than a lot of other( synthetic) brushes I've tried. And on top of all this I will quote, the famous watercolorist, Joseph Zbukvic." I would be lost without these Escoda brushes". If a "master" in watercolor states this, do you take his advice?

Perfect Little Brush

The brush itself was an excellent price. But once the shipping and handling was added in, the expense was high. That is the reason I didn't rate it "A fantastic deal".

What a pleasure!

these Escoda Perla brushes are such a pleasure to use for my watercolor paintings. The balance is just right, they hold a huge amount of water, and the tip stays pointed, no matter what size I am using. I haven't found any negatives so far. A great find.
Enjoying Escoda Perla Toray synthetic brushes
By Love to Paint
from Oakland, CA
I used the Escoda Toray white synthetic brushes for the first time (sizes 10, 12, 16) in a recent three-day watercolor workshop and I love them. They hold plenty of paint, hold their point and have lots of spring. It's possible to move a wash around areas that need to be kept white, which is great because you can avoid changing brushes too frequently. I have the short-handle version - perfect for watercolor.
Love these brushes! They hold a lot of water and pigment and hold their shape well over time.

Holed a lot of paint - Finest point
from Columbus Ohio
I have a #16 Princeton 4050R, a #12 Raphail Kaerell 8394 a #8 Escoda Versatil and this brush, #10 Escoda Perla. I'm trying out different synthetics to see which one I like the most. This brush has by far, the longest and finest point of them all. It holds and releases paint very well, almost releasing too well for smaller details, perhaps I just had too much paint in it. The handle is a bit longer than all the others but balanced very well and I like how it feels in the hand. The Perla fibers are the stiffest of the bunch, i.e. it has the most spring. The Raphail has the softest feel to it. This seems to make it easier to control for me than the others. Overall it give me confidence. I share my brushes with my wife and we both favor the Perla over the other three.
