The traditional "sash" is a round brush with a blunt, tapered tip that covers large areas, but with soft edges. It's a favorite of faux finish and decorative painters working on frescos, murals, and other large projects. The round shape delivers outstanding control, so it can be used for smaller, more detailed applications as well.

Escoda's famous sash comes in a variety of shapes, from the soft oval tip of the "Olive" brush to the more blunt, square edge of the "Patent" brush. Each brush is loaded with Escoda's top-quality natural Shanghai Chungking hog bristle. Escoda specially treats each brush to ensure that it maintains its shape.

Series 7643 "Olive" — It has an oval tip for covering larger areas, but with softer edges and finer control. The matt varnished wooden handle varies from 160 mm to 230 mm, depending on the size of the brush.

Series 7542 "Pressed" — It has a rounded tip for covering larger areas, but with soft edges. The garnet colored plastic handle varies from 140 mm to 185 mm, depending on the size of the brush.

Series 7744 "Patent" — It has a square-edge tip for harder edges. The matt varnished wooden handle varies from 215 mm to 265 mm, depending on the size of the brush.

Note — Brush sizes are not standardized. The length and width of a brush of a given shape and size varies considerably by manufacturer. Since fine art brushes are handmade, expect some variation even among brushes from a given manufacturer.
