Ox hair is used to produce a moderately priced sable brush, one that is affordable for students and beginning artists. The fiber is soft and resilient, good for not leaving brush marks. Although it lacks the pointing abilities of pure Kolinsky, ox hair has many characteristics of fine sable at a much lower cost. That's why many artists choose ox hair as a substitute for Kolinsky in larger sizes. Escoda puts the same quality workmanship into each Bravo brush that it puts into its finest Kolinsky sable brushes. The long, lacquered red wood handle offers superb control. It's attached to the nickeled brass ferrule via Escoda's exclusive triple crimping process. Note — Brush sizes are not standardized. The length and width of a brush of a given shape and size varies considerably by manufacturer. Since fine art brushes are handmade, expect some variation even among brushes from a given manufacturer. ® Escoda is a registered trademark. |
