Enkaustikos offers a variety of additives useful for encaustic painters, as well as artists working in other media.
Damar Resin — Damar Resin is a natural, sticky sap, harvested from trees that grow in the East Indies. The combination of damar resin with USP beeswax produces a harder, more durable paint film. This creates a luminous finish.
Rabbit Skin Glue — Encaustic painters often mix Rabbit Skin Glue with Titanium White paint and precipitated chalk to make a dry gesso for use as a base. Rabbit Skin Glue is sold as a powder and should be dissolved in warm water for use.
