Empty Paint Tubes
from Hardwick, Vermont
Comments about Empty Aluminum Paint Tubes:
I was worried that the empty paint tubes might get flattened in the mailing process. The six tubes were expertly wrapped and arrived 100% intact and ready for me to use.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Fantastic way to store a mix you make. So glad they came along! Easy to use!
NEEDED JUST A FEW
from North Bend, OR
I didn't want a box of 50 and I needed something larger than a standard watercolor tube. It's nice to order these with my regular Blick order as it minimizes shipping costs and I just get what I need when I need it.

Empty paint tubes
from St. Augustine, FL
Cannot tell if it is best because is the only kind I have used so far. Perfect for re-packing some oil paint colors that I had, into smaller tubes for plein air painting. Also great for rescuing some damaged oil tubes that were leaking everywhere.
I have not used these yet, but they look very well made and what a great idea!! Perfect for mixes, muds and what about those brand new paint tubes that leak or the caps break! I will probably purchase more.

A Small Wonder!
I own William F. Powell's book 'Color Mixing Recipes', which is a painter's cookbook that goes into detail about hundreds of different specific Colors to make, from Limestone, to Redbrick, and on to Lilac, Sand, and Tulip petals. None of them would be very interesting if I couldn't prepare the color ahead of time in my own aluminium tubes. I can mix it up with a palette knife, find the right consistency, and then store it away securely with the aid of a pliers! It is extremely handy to be able to prepare a tube of 'Sand', ''Sea' or 'Warm Rocks' before heading to the cottage for the week. All I have to do is pull out a lightweight easel, and a 12x16" canvas board, and I have the necessary mix available, without having to stop and guess on the spot. Thankfully, I'll never waste money by mixing the wrong pure colors again!
These are easy to use and were well priced. Very satisfied.
Using Paint Tubes, to pre-mix my own color to store.

I like making up my own color ahead in going outdoors to do 'Plein Air' Painting. I do wish that I could buy smaller empty paint tubes like 22ml or 45ml. Because space is limited in paint box, along with easel and small backpack carried out in the field to paint.

These empty tubes allow me to save money by buying the larger tubes of paint for their value and transferring some paint to a smaller, more transportable size for Plein air painting and lessons.

Very glad I purchased these
from Augus,t AG
I use these to put paint from tubes in which the paint has hardened somewhat or tubes in which I cannot unscrew the top off. I transfer the paint from the original tube using a metal tube wringer (a bit pricy, but definitely worth it) into the empty tube and them label the tube with the color and brand of the paint in the tube. The cap-less end is open and requires rolling of the end once the paint is inserted. I also use the wringer to tightly seal the end of the tube once the paint has gone into the tube. You could use a needle-nose pliers to also fold the end over. Or you could use your hands, but the wringer makes a nice tight seal, as the pliers could also do. These tubes are saving a lot of my paints. I'm very glad I made the purchase. Some people have complained that the tube came a little dent. That is absolutely no problem; they straighten out when you fill them with paint.
