sharpner won't stay in always comes out

I'm a Kindergarten Teacher and a someone bought this as a gift to the class room but when we use it the sharpner comes out I tried over and over but won't lock in...Can someone solve the mystery here if not I don't think this is a great deal ...sorry

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I purchased this electric crayon sharpener for my elementary art room. It is not easy for the students to use. It CLOGS very easily. The directions say to clean weekly, I would recommend daily cleaning. Fortunately, on the bottom, there is a tool to help with the cleaning, and the blades come out of the sharpener easily. There is an orange button you press to get the blades out. When reinstalling the blades in the sharpener, be sure that the sharpening mechanism is flush with the hole the crayon goes through to be sharpened, and push the orange button in to secure the blade. I have placed the sharpener on my desk and will not allow the students to use it in the future. Cleaning it is that much an issue, especially if they break a crayon off in the hole!!! I would not buy it again.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
