The number 1 paper mache!
By Art Teacher

Comments about Elmer's Art Paste:
Excellent product, waaaaay better alternative to the classic oatmeal-glue paper mache concoctions of your childhood. I find that the best practice is to mix it up days in advance. Then, every day, give it a good stir, pressing out any "lumps" of paper mache with your hands. The paste will come out much more consistent than if mixed and used the same day.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I use it for all my paper mache projects from 1st grade to 5th grade and my Sculpture and Ceramics Class. Sometimes it doesn't mix completely and leaves lumps so you have to continue and mix and mix.

Great for paper mache. Use it every time.
I am not buying this product again...very disappointed!
By Disapointed Art Teacher
This product was recommended to me by a fellow teacher and decided to try it out this year (I usually use the flour recipe for papier-mache). I followed the directions on the box and it mixed up into a goopy, sticky solution. Looked good! The students used it, it stuck to their paper strips, it stuck to their artwork; WONDERFUL! Then it dried....and all that stick didn't "glue" the paper strips down. I am left with 100 papier-mache projects that are all falling apart due to lack of "stick" when the paste dried. The paper strips are peeling up and flapping everywhere. I do not recommend. Do not buy.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

A staple in my ES art room!
I use a bit of the mixed paste to make the tempera paint more viscous. The paint then clings to the brush and we have less accidents!
Easy to store. Easy to mix. Easy to use. Fairly easy to clean! ;) Perfect for paper mache projects. A tip: I mix it in a gallon jug with the proper measurements so that I can just shake the jug and store it in the jug.
The best paper mâché paste out there
By Colleen, the retired art teacher
from Creede, Cololrado
I used Elemer's Art Paste when I taught Elementary Art (900 students a week), and found this the best product out there. I still use it today to create my paper mâché art for a gallery. Great stuff.

I use this product for paste paper and it works quite well.

We call it GOOP!!! My elementary kids love this stuff. One baggie makes an incredible amount of glue that is super durable. Great for painting on tissue and/or newspaper (paper mache)
