This product is excellent! I have been using these boards for painting studies as well as the support for a recent series of final works. They're perfect for experimenting and trying new techniques on (the double-sided feature is great). I am using both oil and acrylic paint and am very pleased with how the paint works with the surface (it has a slight tooth to it, so it really grabs the paint). I've also done a few collages (paper cut-outs and gel medium) and this is an excellent surface for that also! Check 'em out!

I'm not sure why someone hasn't thought of this before: artists are budget-conscious and often ecologically-minded, yet there's a huge gap in the market between easily-warped student-grade canvas panels and expensive hardwood surfaces.

Sometimes you just need something in-between, and this fits the bill. These panels are roughly the width of masonite (one of my favorite painting surfaces) but come with a flawless bright white primed surface on all sides plus the edges. These worked well for me with acrylics, although I want to experiment with some watercolor and drawing techniques. The sturdiness of the board seems like it would stand up to some sanding, too.

The slim profile makes it easy to store, vs. wider-profile paintings. And the priming on backside means you can use both sides if desired. This isn't as easy to quickly hang on wall as a canvas, but the crisply primed edges make it attractive enough to mount to wall with L-shaped brackets, without having to use a frame.
