Comments about Eco-House 125 Neutral Thin:
Solvents really bother me...dizziness, headaches etc. I've tried gamsol and others but this stuff Is just the best. It cuts paints easily, has zero odor, and I paint indoors have zero side affects. This is a must if you love using true oil paints but have issues with solvents. 5 stars Eco House!!!

Perfect for me
from New City, NY
I'm a beginner at oil painting and try to keep is as non-toxic as possible. I use weber turpenoid natural for cleaning my brushes but it is not good to use as a medium. I tried gamsol, outside no less, and it unfortunately made me naucious. So I gave this a try. It has no smell, and I use it indoors with ventilation through a ceiling fan and a screen door and I haven't had problems with it. It thins well and also cleans brushes well. For mediums I use gamblin solvent-free gel and liquiglaze natural, and I can mix this with them as well so I think I've found what I need.
Safest thinner on the market
I have used this product for several years as a thinner and a brush cleaner. It has little or no odor or toxicity. If you are concerned about both quality and your health, this is the product I recommend. I have also used the extra mild citrus thinner made by Eco-House, which is not "extra mild" but is useful for thinning damar. I can also recommend their drier additive.

This is great for me because I paint in my small apartment and have a roommate, so I can't have a strong smelling thinner knocking both of us out. It cleans and thins really well and I really can't smell anything even when I put my nose right up to it.

Since it is cold outside I can't open the windows for ventilation. So I need a thinner that has the minimum of odors and fumes. I read about this thinner and it seemed like my best bet. I've been using it for a few days and I've already reordered it in the largest size. It's just what I was looking for. It thins my paints well and there is NO smell. It cleans my brushes well also. I haven't used it in any other way so I can't comment on that, but for basic paint mixing/thinning and cleanup, it's fine and there are no complaints from anyone else about fumes. The only thing that I'd wish were better is I wish the price were a little lower. But I guess it's worth the price to not have to worry about the fumes.
Best non-toxic thinner ever
By Kathy in Homer
This is the mildest of the Eco-House thinners, and is lower in toxicity than any other medium I have ever used, including gamsol. It is nearly odorless. Unlike the stronger citrus thinner made by Eco House, it does not dissolve damar, but in all other respects it is a great thinner for oil painting.
