If you enjoy experimenting with watercolor, this is the collection for you!
Each reusable tin features a versatile mix of watersoluble media, including watercolor pencils, Inktense pencils, and Inktense blocks. The set of 12 includes a watercolor brush. The set of 24 includes a watercolor brush and an 8B Dark Wash watersoluble sketching pencil.
Derwent watercolor pencils can be used wet or dry to create a wide range of exciting effects, from bold, vibrant images to soft, subtle impressions.
Derwent Inktense pencils have a firmer texture that allows them to perform with the brilliant intensity of traditional pen-and-ink. They can be used dry for rich, intense color or washed out with water to create a vivid translucent effect. Once dry, the color is permanent and can be worked over with other media.
Derwent Inktense blocks are chunky, watersoluble ink blocks that can be used dry or wet. They’re ideal for loose, expressive landscapes and colorful still life paintings. They can also be used for rubber stamping, decoupage, or on fabric to create stunning silk paintings and quilts. They combine beautifully with Inktense pencils.

Derwent Watercolor Pencils, wow!

Comments about Derwent Watercolor Pencil Collection Tin Sets:
I'm a newbie to watercolors. My roommate is an artist and he recommended Derwent. I purchased the set of 24 pencils. I have plenty of pencils to mix the colors I need to illustrate a children's book I'm working on. This set also contains rectangular crayon-like wedges. They are a lot of fun to use. The 24 pack even came with a brush which was a nice surprise. I suspect that this set will last me quite a long time as I am not drawing very big objects. Buy these with the Canson watercolor paper-you won't be sorry! Also, no one can beat Dick Blick prices!

Awesome portability !!
from Auburndale Florida
Really pleased with this product. Great color quality and I have the ability to tuck it into my travel bag and be able to reproduce any object or scene at a moments notice without any fuss.....all I need is a drinking bottle of water which I always have anyways. Grateful to my friend who recommended this to me !!

I really like the set
from Tallahassee, FL
My father bought me the set of 12 and I really love it. It has allowed me to test out a good handful of products from Derwent. I would recommend this to someone who is new to water-soluble pencils and Derwent products in general. So far I really like the sketching, the inktense, and the regular watercolor pencils. I use the sketching the most. I think I might try all the water-soluble Sketching pencils from Derwent, I have grown a strange attachment to the one in this set. It has worked really well for me. :) Something that I would change if I had to would be: instead of giving a brush with the set I would prefer another pencil of some sort. There is nothing wrong with the brush, it works great, I just have a lot of brushes so it wasn't really something I needed. But I understand that if you are someone who doesn't have a lot of brushes, it would be handy.

Perfect for traveling
from Lexington, KY
I am a crafter and these pencils were my first purchase of watercolor pencils. I took them along on a trip to Jamaica for use in a travel journal. The colors in the set of 12 were perfect for the tropics and traveled well. It is a nice introductory kit with a sketching pencil, watercolor pencils, inktense pencils and a small watercolor brush. There are also 3 Aquatone pencils which are solid watercolor sticks with no wood casing that can lay down wide strokes of color. The sketching pencil is water soluble so you may want to substitute a non-soluble sketching pencil in your kit. Travels well in a metal case.
