Welcome to dickblick
These professional style brayers are hand ground to produce a fully concentric rolling surface, enabling smooth ink application. An excellent choice for block printing, they are also perfect for laminating and other techniques. Strong and durable, they have a heat-treated steel frame,self-lubricating nylon bearings, and an ergonomically designed handle.
The handle has a unique molded pressure point that helps in applying even pressure. This unique point also flips to become a convenient stand, keeping the brayer clear of your work. A handy slot makes it easy to hang the brayer for drying or simple storage.

Nice Tool for the Job!
from point au roche, ny
Comments about De Luxe Soft Artists’ Rubber Brayer:
This brayer compares well to those I have used in my 30 year career as a printmaker. It seems very mildly uneven on the surface, however, which means uneven coverage unless you are careful inking. I use it for woodblock printing. It has the smallest stand built into one side of the base - but use it with caution as I have seen it roll over from that position and get ink in places I did not want ink (for example the rug)... nice weight and size for the 8inch.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Brayer good, stand useless
from Reno, NV
The quality of the brayer is very good, but the stand is not a stand. The only way we were able to keep the brayer from sitting in the ink was to weight the handle, not an ideal situation. This also makes the brayer more difficult to store. If the stand were functional, I would have given a much higher rating.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Merchant response: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. Because the 8" roller is relatively heavy, the brayer in that particular size is finely balanced, but still should balance on the stand. It sounds like the balance on yours wasn't quite right, and our Customer Care Agents will be happy to work with you to take care of this. Just give us a call at 1-800-723-2787.
Aboit as much as i am willing to spend for a brayer

Cheap brayers suck. Great brayers cost a lot this one seems to me to hit my sweet spot between price and quality. Roller is smooth and even no bald spots on a pass thru the ink. Might be a little soft for some.

I used this to roll out inks for woodcut printmaking. I haven't done a whole lot of printmaking but so far this roller is the best I've used. The only complaint I have is that the roller is black which makes it hard to see black ink on it. Not too much of a problem though.

Quality at the right size and price

from Lakewood, CO
I needed a brayer to cover the width of a slightly trimmed 8x10 plate, and this is the only one I could find at a reasonable price. Works perfectly.

These rollers are really straight - much better quality than other, lower-priced brayers.
Really like it!

This brayer feels most solid for printmaking....better than craft brayers

I couldn't make this brayer work at all on my woodblock. It seemed too hard to roll the ink out .I used Akua Intaglia ink.I will try again soon but I feel as though I probably wasted 30 dollars.

Built to take hard work
By Johnny Appleseed
I use this roller to laminate my students final year artwork and it has taken an enormous amount of hard work. A real tough guy.
