I obviously use this over my easel. It fits relatively well. The only real problem I have so far is the very annoying ringing sound from the light bulb. It's VERY distracting. I replaced it with a higher quality bulb from a well known national home store which had a full bulb shielding around the coiled bulb. Voila, the ring is gone. I can't imagine enjoying painting sessions with that ringing. I wish I could be reimbursed for the bulb that was sent with the lamp as it's no good to me. I hope not to read the standard manufacturer canned response on bad feedback.
Otherwise I MUST say I think dickblick is a great site, offers great turnaround, polite customer reps, and high quality items. I've ordered a good deal of merchandise lately and I've been pleased all around. I'd recommend the lamp but not with the current bulb offered with it (therefore my "No, I would not recommend this to a friend".

I attached this to my easel, and it gives me the perfect light for indoor painting. It's flexibility is good. The only change that i would make wold be to make the entire shaft of the lamp arm flexible instead of only a little under half.

I wasn't going to bother reviewing this lamp (if you don't have anything good to say...), but I was sent an email asking for a review, so here it is: Big disappointment for me; the flex/ swivel part has a pretty limited range, maybe 90 degrees, you can turn it more but it just goes back to its limited range. The lock screw looks kind of scary (cheesy), like if you were to bump it, it would just break. But, on a more positive note, the electrical chord is fairly substantial and even long enough!
But I have a Daylight combo desk lamp that is even worse, so go figure...

I bought the Daylight Easel Lamp to help get good light on my canvas without seeing the lamp first. When attached to my easel the extension arm is so short that it does not light the entire canvas but puts a bright glare on the edge next to the side light is attached while almost no light to the opposite side. Good quality light of "daylight and may work on small canvas but so unevenly distributed on larger pieces that that it does not serve purpose.

I wanted a light that I could use on my drawing table and on my easel. This is just what I wanted. Works perfectly. The only problem is the bulb that came with it is too blue in color. So I replaced it with a bulb that has more sun light to it.

I have this lamp clamped onto the top of my easel and it adjusts so nicely! Very easy to assemble! The bulb is a bit bright, but it helps me with precise colors. Nice product!

I agree with other reviews: this was the most affordable daylight lamp I could find. It clips nicely on to my easel and the lighting is perfect-but if you work on larger pieces (18x24) esp at night, you might want to reconsider...

I shopped around for this particular lamp and could not find it cheaper anywhere else. I use a metal easel, however and had some problems clamping it on. It still works on the metal easel if you position it right and is well worth it compared to lamps made especially for these kind of easels.

Works very well as a clip on easel lamp. In a dark room, the light illuminates quite well a medium 11 x 14 canvas. For a bigger canvas you need more light. I have added a side light to flood the painting area.

I needed to paint at night, and am a portrait artist. This helps me to get the colors right, with other lamps I kept getting skins too yellow.
It clips to my easel, is quite potent, does a nice job.
