This stable three-legged tripod extends to 7 ft high and holds up to four clip-on studio lamps, for the equivalent of 400 watts of light! One Daylight Clip-On Studio Lamp and a 20W Daylight bulb are included. Add more lamps as additional light is needed.

The Daylight Clip-On Studio Lamp features a unique clamp-lock system that secures it firmly to a stand or tripod. An Easy-Twist 320° head joint affixed to a 5" flexible arm allows the light to be directed precisely where it's needed. The lamp features an extra-long 10 ft cord. A 20W Daylight bulb is included.

I wish I had taken the negative reviews seriously. The lamp shade is held onto the light by a plastic ring that does not fit the grooves on the light. So you end up spending hours trying to put it together only to realize that it cannot be done. Quality control is totally lacking.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Based on the description and photos I had great hopes for the lamp and I bought two. Unfortunately one of them did not work at all (and it was not because of a bad bulb). The stands seemed stable and the clips that attach the light to the pole seem like a great design-- they clip on securely and don't slip, at least on day one. But ultimately, for a price point that I consider above middle I didn't think quality was above middle. I thought the inoperable one one should not have made it past quality control and I returned both. One lamp would not be enough light for detail work.

I bought this to use for painting at night. I don't think the bulb is nearly bright enough and it seems a bit on the blue side. Perhaps 2 lamps will work better. Also I expected a retractable tripod type setup. The extensions screw together. This may be just as well since it is smaller and should transport well. The lamp went together easily and doesn't take up a lot of space in my studio. The lamps clip securly to the stand. My only complaint is the sections that screw together were covered on one end with some gooey stuff. Fortunately it came off with goof-off without damaging the finish. It's good for the price.

I bought this to give more accutate lighting for my easel in my studio....mainly at night when there is no daylight. I don't think the bulb that came with it is any different from some of the new specialty compact fluorescent that are available today. The stand is nice and can hold several lamps....however...I think two is the maximum it could hold without becoming top heavy. It's a nice light to have , but for the price I think I could have gone to the hardware store and devised the same thing for much less.
