FW Artists Ink is an acrylic-based, pigmented, water-resistant ink in a range of 38 colors, all of which have either a three-star or four-star rating for permanence.
Such a high degree of lightfastness over such a range of fully intermixable colors makes them ideal for use by artists in the production of pictures for permanent display. (Note – Fluorescent colors are not lightfast.)
Colors can be substantially diluted to achieve the most subtle of tones, very similar in character to watercolor. Such washes will dry to a water-resistant film and successive layers of color can be laid over them in a highly predicable manner.
FW Artists Inks work well with airbrushes, dip pens, technical pens, and brushes. Select colors are available in both 1 oz and 6 oz sizes. The dropper from the 1 oz size also fits the tops of the 6 oz bottles.
Neon Colors, Set of 6
This set of six 1 oz (30 ml) bottles contains every fluorescent color in the line, including Fluorescent Red, Fluorescent Yellow, Fluorescent Green, Fluorescent Blue, Fluorescent Orange, and Fluorescent Pink. (Note – Fluorescent colors are not lightfast.)
Primary Colors Set
This set of six 1 oz (30 ml) bottles contains Lemon Yellow, Process Magenta, Process Cyan, Sepia, Emerald Green, and Scarlet.
Shimmering Colors Set
This set of six 1 oz (30 ml) bottles contains Shimmering Blue, Shimmering Red, Shimmering Green, Shimmering Gold, Velvet Violet, and Black (India).

Excellent for airbrush art!

I originally bought FW inks for use in technical pens for fine art work. They are great for that, although some of the colors have thicker pigments and tend to clog up the smallest nibs.In airbrush work, they are exceptional. They are my "go to" colors, even with the smallest needles and the thickest pigments. Airbrushes are temperamental little critters, especially for fine lines, etc. The learning curve is steep and many artists give up on them and go back to bristle brushes. Understandable. I started out with Createx Wicked and Badger Spectra Tex acrylic paints. They are both good on a fresh mat board but have to be thinned and tend to splatter out on already painted areas and don't always flow consistently. Awesome color selections, though. After some frustrations with those colors and thinning and finding good air pressure settings and tip-dry, I gave my FW acrylics a try. I was pleasantly surprised at how consistently they flowed at low psi settings and do not require thinning. They're easy to clean up with isopropyl alcohol, cover well and look great. They don't mix well together like the other brands I mentioned, which is a bit of a bummer because FW doesn't offer as many color choices. I have concluded that half the formula for successful airbrushing in fine art work is finding the right paints to use. There is always tip-dry to deal with, some colors are easier to clean up than others, you always have to mess with the psi settings. But if you find a set of paints that gives consistently good flow with a minimum of fussing, you're just about there. The frustration levels are minimal and you can focus on and enjoy the art instead of the temperamental medium.

Nice ink although FW acrylic inks are not consistent in their quality. For instance some of the inks have a great consistency but others are too thin and too transparent. This can be a great quality but for my purposes I wanted the ink to be opaque.
These inks are bright, intense, vibrant colors that are so fun to work with! Just make sure the tops are screwed on tightly or else it is a huge mess.
I will buy this product again and again

I use these inks to make abstract art. I love the flow of the inks on different surfaces, such as stretched canvas, canvas-paper and multimedia paper. I also use the inks as paint to touch up my heavy-body acrylic painting.

I had never used acrylic ink and bought my first batch for a Tracy Verdugo workshop in Bali. I never opened the inks until the workshop started - even kept them in their original shipping materials (great job, Blick!!) - and sincerely fell in love with them. At the end of the workshop, one of the students in the next session wanted to buy them from me so I let them go but came RIGHT home and ordered all the ones I took to Bali plus several more! The color is brilliant, can be used beautifully with water for more of a wash or right out of the jar for brilliant pops of color. I love the droppers because you can use them to draw & doodle right on your canvas and I found that a little goes a LONG way. I'm very happy to add these to my list of must-have supplies!!

An extremely versatile product
I use acrylic inks to paint onto cotton fabric, which I then quilt. These inks can be used full strength for saturated colors, or diluted with water for a watercolor effect. Because they are not paint, you can take advantage of their transparency, using them to apply washes to slightly alter hues already laid down. An unlimited variety of hues can be attained by mixing colors. They can also be thickened with aloe vera gel, to give them more paint-like body and control. The colors are permanent on fabrics when let to dry for a week and then heat set with an iron--afterward, they can be laundered. I have also mixed them with other makers' mediums, to very positive effect. One of the best things about these inks is that on fabrics they can be substituted for dyes, because they are transparent, and also they can be used to "dye" polyester fabrics. Colors that include white, of course, are not as transparent. Generally I lay my fabric onto a plastic sheet for painting; the plastic can be (mostly) cleaned of ink residue by using isopropyl alcohol, or a lye-based soap bar.
Daler Rowney makes beautiful intensely colored and shimmery pearlescent inks using a wide assortment of pigments and resins.
