Welcome to dickblick
Da Vinci Pure Badger brushes contain the highest-quality silver-tipped pure badger hair, perfect for blending and softening oil paint on the canvas.
Unlike other hair, pure badger hair is thickest at the tips, giving these brushes a bushy appearance. They're excellent for glazing techniques, and popular with decorative and faux finish painters because of their blending ability.

Comments about Da Vinci Brushes Da Vinci Pure Badger Brushes:
The best blender for Oil color. The Badger bristle's leave, a soft and subtle, gradation of color. The Badger Blender from Da Vinci is an essential tool for any painter. The quality, German made brush will last for years. Cleans up easily and retains it's shape. Perfect for fading from one color to another. I would recommend this brush to any level painter.
LOVE LOVE LOVE

I have recently found it difficult to find badger brushes. When I saw these on your site, I ordered 2 to try them. LOVE THEM. I would like to get some larger than size 16 though! I even told 7 ladies in my art class because they like badger brushes too.

Have not had time to use the brushes. However, I have no reason to believe that they will not perform as I anticipate they will. Thank you.

Comments about Da Vinci Pure Badger Filbert Series 1895 and 1898:
The badger is sort of a cross between sable and bristle. You can get a smoother surface than with bristle, but they are easier to clean. They also tend not to "flop" quite as fast as sable brushes. I also have several DaVinci sables, and they are quite good, on a par with W&N. I recommend them.

Great brushes. Unique and useful
By Kal A.
from Boston, MA
I got these da Vinci badger brushes to test them out. I've always been a fan of da Vinci brushes and their quality. I found that the badger brushes are very unique in making a brush stroke where you push the brush upward. The hairs of the brush will stay in their place and won't bend when you do that technique. It's a brush stroke I learned from the Richard Schmid's DVDs. They're also unique for glazing and blending. They're not a replacement for bristle or sable brushes. they're in a category by themselves. After trying the brights, I ended up buying the rounds and long filberts too. I'm glad that I tried them.
