Da Vinci takes the name of their company very seriously. Their paints are exciting, intense, and rated among the best in the world for quality.
The paints are permanent, with the highest tinting strength and pigment concentration available. However, they are especially soft, with a creamy consistency for smooth, easy dispersion with water.
Available in both 15 ml (.51oz) and 37 ml (1.25 oz) tubes. Da Vinci paints conform to artist's quality standard ASTM D-5067, and to safety standard ASTM D-4236.
Note — Use this color chart as an approximation of the real color. If exact color matching is necessary, use actual samples of the materials.
Comments about Da Vinci Paints Da Vinci Artists' Permanent Watercolors:
These are really good watercolor paints for the price. However, I've been finding large air bubbles in some of my tubes. One of them was about 20% air, which negates any savings in buying this brand.

Comments about Da Vinci Paints Da Vinci Artists' Permanent Watercolors:
pretty good paint--for the price, but ... if you want pure quality colors with very high tinting strength then look elsewhere. To find dull particles like something dirty in an expensive color like Q. fuchsia is a real turn off. Just a tad--but it ruins the entire effect.

FIne paint, big tubes!!

Comments about Da Vinci Paints Da Vinci Artists' Permanent Watercolors:
I think I have tried every brand of artists' grade watercolor available over many years of painting. I love trying new paints! Most are good, at least in part of their color range. But Da Vinci is one that really stands out for several reasons. One is simply the big 37 ml tubes - why can't the other brands do this? If you paint a lot, you have less chance of running out of your favorite colors, and these paints store well. I have found tubes that were forgotten in a drawer for several years and are still usable. Another plus is the labelling on the tubes. It is clearly printed and gives you the essential product info in a READABLE form. Yes!! Finally, the range of colors is useful, without a lot of fanciful mixes and silly names that tempt you into buying stuff you will probably never use. Da Vinci's product line is limited to paint and a few accessories, so maybe that is why they can be so focussed on quality. No negatives. Highly recommended.

Comments about Da Vinci Paints Da Vinci Artists' Permanent Watercolors:
I was really pleased with this paint. The consistency and quality of the 25 colors I've purchased is as good as Holbein or Schmincke but much more economical. While I own the complete sets of Holbein artist's gouache, artist's watercolor, Irodori watercolor & acrylics, I continue to try other brands. I've found DaVinci to be a heavy paint with excellent coverage and mixing qualities. It works beautifully over gouace to reduce the dreary matte appearance gouache sometimes yields. The layers of this paint remain clean and workability is fantastic. I've recently also purchased Sennelier, Blick, ShinHan Premium Watercolors & Old Holland as well. I am very disappointed with the Sennelier. The colors run out of the tube without squeezing and are not as vibrant as I'd hoped. The ShinHan Premium Watercolors are much like gouache and seem to muddy quite easily. Although the colors ShinHan offers are identical in name to Holbein's line, the quality of paint is sadly lacking. I haven't used the Blick or Old Holland enough as I seem to be stuck on DaVinci & Holbein at the moment.
