Cretacolor's Monolith Woodless Pencil is made with the purest graphite from Austria, formed into a 7 mm solid stick with a protective lacquer coating. Artists are thrilled by the broad and fine strokes that can easily be achieved with only one pencil.
Densities range from HB (medium) to 9B (extra soft). Pencils are pre-sharpened.

A great small gift for a working artist.
from Brooklyn, NY
This was a small gift to a fellow co-worker that helped me out on my last gig (and also contributed his drawing talent to the Production we were working on). It was well received.

This is a new product for me
from Milford MA
Thought I would try these since I always look at the in the store. The fact that I purchased a set in a tin container and it comes with a lead holder is great. I have not used it yet, but I'll assume the quality is great.
I do not use many pastels
I use this product, for storing my collections of pencils( graphite, sketching, charcoal etc.). It may seem destructive, but I pull out the dividers, layer the inside of the drawers with black felt and start filling the drawers. Loose pencils, paper stumps, erasers and sets do fit nicely in the drawers. I have sets of 12 pcs in tins which do fit nicely as well.

Great drawing tool!
from West Warren, MA
Had no idea this pencil was available. I was looking for a clutch pencil but this is way better value.

I love the way these feel when I use them
I don't know if you need this many of them. A little change in pressure is really all it takes to get different values. I also don't know about the tinting pencil, I am not sure how to get an even tint or how to control the tint. BUt, I love the softness and smoothness of these for drawing and feel that for regular drawing this is as nice as it gets.

Fluid strong lines
from Upstate New York
I have used Creatacolor Monolith Woodless Pencils for a very long time now. The reason being that they are so adaptable when drawing..with one tool you can create strong fluid lines or with the side put down even smooth shading. The pencil itself is clean, smooth and comfortable in the hand. On a drawing surface it moves effortlessly. Whether you are a professional artist or a hobbyist this is a great product with a great price.
Perfect for figure drawing
from Madrid, Spain
This pencils allow me to draw really fast because they're soft and don't get stuck against the surface of the paper. It's also easy to achieve thick and thin lines, as well as light and dark ones.I use them for quick figure drawing; I can draw lines and incorporate shadows fast and with no problem. They're also not easy to break, and they're perfect to avoid surprise broken leads that you sometimes discover inside the normal pencils, that at some point fell to the ground and got their lead secretly broken inside of them...Also there's a super thin layer covering them that works perfectly to keep my hands from getting dirty and it feels soft and nice.Currently this is my favourite tool for this task : )
from Springfield, TN
I picked these up on the off chance I may actually enjoy drawing. They beat the traditional wooden drawing pencils hands down. I wasn't sure what to expect when I pulled out the case. Inside were 7 all woodless pencils that changed my perception of what it is like to draw. Sure it has the benefits of a multitude of strokes with just the angle you hold it at. You don't have to worry about getting deep into a drawing and working your lead down to the wood only to have to stop and sharpen. The graphite just feels right home in your hand and commands use.
