No bleed, no bending sketchbook.
Pros: -No bleed whatsoever.-Little bending from watercolor.-Very little to no pencil smudging. My pencil drawings, which have smudged a lot in canson artbooks, have not been smudging despite constant use.-The cover feels nice and its edges have stayed straight despite a fair amount of use and transportation. Cons: -doesn't lie completely flat, although this feature doesn't bother me very much. -The paper isn't completely white. It's a very light grey that's very slightly speckled/more transparent in some areasNotes: -I haven't noticed any smells, but I am not smell sensitive. -I use my Rendr sketchbook for pencil, marker, watercolor, and pen stuff. Overall: satisfies all my needs and I will continue to use it in the future as a main sketchbook.
One of the Best Purchases I've made in a while
from Dallas, TX
So, I was poking around the internet one day, looking for a bleed proof sketchbook I could use to initially created an Original Comic of mine. And, after a couple minutes of searching, I happened to had come across a book that promised no matter how much acrylic, water color, or marker ink you used on a page, it will never show through the other side of the paper. Curious, I bought the book, for a rather affordable price considering it came w/ 96 pages. It shows up at my door 3 days early...and I was excited to put its expectations to the Test. I had gotten some alcohol based markers from a friend that would bleed heavily through another sketchbook of mine made by Strathmore, and my excitement to try them on this new book filled me to no avail. So, I already had the 1st page premeditatedly drawn out, and did what an artist does best. After a couple minutes of using a profusion of ink for the cover page - to my surprise, there was no bleeding on the other side of the page. Not even a splotch. This company advertises that no matter what you used, it wouldn't bleed, or show through the other side, and this statement holds true. I do not own a set of acrylic myself, or water colors, but, as an avid Alcohol marker user, seeing how they can bleed through literally 3 pages in a sketchbook w/ thin sheets of paper, this was absolutely astounding! I instantly believed that no matter what you used, it wouldn't show through, and I recommend this book to anyone looking for a sketchbook that promises what's advertised.

I have been using watercolors, charcoal and chalk, alcohol markers and paint but nothing seems to seep through to the other side of the page, its amazingly smooth and easy to blend on as well. Dream paper :)

Wirebound Crescent RendR No Show Thru Paper
I love spiral bound notebooks that lay flat. This no show through paper is amazing, I even used acrylic paint.

I've always been very persnickety about my sketchbooks and this one completely satisfies me in nearly all aspects. I do understand why other buyers are unhappy with the lay flat aspect of it, but over all, I sincerely enjoy this product. I was always wasteful with my other sketchbooks; I'd never use pages front and back since my markers bled through, but not in this case. I'm getting the full value of the paper and I couldn't be happier.
I am going to buy a lot more of this product

An excellent product. I haven't even used up the paper I have and I'm already planning to buy more. I would love for it to come in wider, longer form.

Decent Paper for markers, but....
from Pocatello, ID
I am fairly new to Copics and was advised to get special paper for them. I enjoy drawing in bound sketchbooks, so thought that this was perfect, albeit a little pricey for a sketchbook. I liked the idea of no bleed paper, and the fact that it supposedly lays flat really drew me to it. But then I got it in the mail....I haven't even used it with my Copics yet and I already notice two big problems. The first is the smell. It came shrink wrapped and there was nothing noticeable about the smell of it when I opened it until I left it sitting next to me for about 20 minutes. I picked it back up and flipped through the pages and was hit with a STRONG smell that eventually gave me a headache. Other reviewers mention this smell, and they aren't kidding. So if you are smell sensitive, stay away from this thing. The 2nd problem I had with the sketchbook was that it does NOT lay flat. At all. Maybe if you left it open to a specific page for days and put something heavy on it, it may eventually lay flat, but it is NOTHING like the super flat sketchbook shown on the packaging. Sure it probably lays flatter than a regular sketchbook, but not by much.I am probably going to keep the sketchbook and test out its pages (since so many have said how good they are with Copics), but honestly, I wouldn't recommend this sketchbook. For Copic users, you're probably better off just buying the Xpress It Blending Card and making your own sketchbook out of that. Or just get a really nice portfolio to store your single pieces of art in.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

It really works
Loving markers makes it hard to use sketchbooks, usually i use some extra papper to avoid stains in other pages or even with maker papper (were your colors show smothly) you still cant use the back, With this one, you get perfectly smoth colors in both sides. Definitelly love it.
After all I've tried, RendR is the only one for me!
from Royal Oaks
I like to carry the small size in my purse for whenever I'm waiting in the car or for someone. I can sketch, ink, or color in with markers and not worry it will bleed to the next page where I've started another sketch. Makes for a compact book to carry! The larger size works same way for me. I can sketch on both sides and if I decide to ink or color in I haven't ruined the sketch on the other side. The paper is smooth, I like the way it takes color pencils too.
