Crescent Regular Surface Matboard offers excellent protection for the majority of framing jobs and provides unlimited matting combinations to enhance artwork and complement interior decor. It can also be used for posters, decorative art, and craft projects.

These classic boards have a fine-quality surface paper that is highly fade and bleed resistant. The white core is made of unprinted, reclaimed wood pulp fibers and, along with the backing paper, is buffered and acid free. Individual boards are 4-ply, .052" – .060" (1.3 to 1.5 mm) thick.

Note — Use the color charts for Crescent matboard as a rough guideline for color, but keep in mind that exact color matching is not possible with a computer monitor. If you require exact color matching for Crescent matboard, use actual samples of the materials.

Crescent Regular Matboard is suitable for the vast majority of matting and framing applications. Where archival quality is needed, for fine art originals, valuable documents, limited edition prints and photos, and so forth, we recommend an archival grade such as Crescent Museum Grade Matboard.

I used this mat to be the overlay for a double-matted picture. It's a quality mat, though the rag which I used under it was of noticeably better quality.

We cut mats for an exhibit at the Methodist Church of art created on paper done by my adult students. When we ran out of time we attached the pictures to uncut mats. Turned out very nice. The only problem was that the grays were slightly lighter than I though they would be.

I ordered 18 matboards. They were packaged extremely well so the individual pieces (mats) appear to be in good condition with the corners in quite good shape (i.e. not bent of curled under)!
