Welcome to dickblick
Rigid enough for quick, gestural paint sketches, yet economical enough to use in the classroom for warm-ups and compositional planning, Crescent Canvas Boards have a white, linen-like canvas surface that is hard-sized to accept a variety of media, including acrylic paints, oil paints (the panel must be primed with gesso first), and even light collage.
These professional-grade boards have a solid, cream-colored, 100% wood cellulose core that has been upgraded from a recycled newsboard core to provide a much finer and smoother surface. Buffered to an alkaline pH, Crescent Canvas Boards are acid-free, lignin-free, and warp-resistant.
The medium-weight boards provide a sturdy, durable substrate, and the heavyweight boards are triple-thick to provide extra strength for rigorous painting techniques.
Handling Charge — When ordering sheets of paper or board larger than 18” x 24” in quantities of less than 10, a $3.00 per order handling fee applies. Paper or boards may be assorted to reach the quantity of 10.

Comments about Crescent Canvas Boards:
I bought these boards for my advanced art class. I thought they were boards thick and ridge, well they're not. They warp. They are thin. I will not buy these again. I am going to go back to the Blick boards. These would be fine for practice but not for a nice finished piece....
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Merchant response: We're sorry that these canvas boards didn't meet your expectations. For warped boards, painting an "X" across the back will generally equalize the surface tension from the painting on the front and flatten out the boards. As always, your satisfaction is important to us, and we're happy to work with you on a return or exchange. A member of our Customer Care Team will be reaching out to further assist you.

I have used three others with no problem, and today was overpainting a primer coat and the top surface bubbled and lifted off the substrate. It appears to have been dry mounted, I believe. It could have been the I was too vigorous in my application, using a rag to apply a coat of black, but this is a first for me.I do like the idea of this lightweight product, but will not be using it again.
Merchant response: We apologize—it sounds like was something wrong with one of the boards you received. A member of our Customer Care Team will be following up with you so we can take care of this.

I use this for ink and watercolor portraits and it is perfect. Great weight stands up to heavy water volume. Arrived in very protective shipping packaging. Awesome! Definitely buying more!

Crescent's most recent addition to their art board line include Mixed Media, Collage, Canvas and Marker boards. All boards are acid free, rigid and extremely durable. They are an excellent choice for all media and will stand up to a wide variety of applications and techniques.
