As the name implies, the Sienna Plein Air All in One Pochade Box is designed to carry all the essentials for a day of plein air painting. It has all the features of Sienna's regular pochade boxes, as well as some exciting additional features.
The All in One Pochade Box boasts three storage compartments under the sliding wood palette. They provide plenty of room for paint tubes, brushes, and other painting accessories. Each compartment measures 3¼" × 12¼" and can hold nine 40 ml paint tubes. They include removable dividers that let you create the perfect storage configuration for your needs.
The All in One Pochade Box can also hold stretched canvas as well as painting panels using the unique holding clips, which firmly grip your substrate and allow you to paint all the way to the edges of your surface. Any canvas or panel up to 17" tall can be accommodated.
Another unique feature of the All in One Pochade Box is the wet painting panel storage compartment. Panels are stored securely and conveniently behind a removable magnetic door, so you never have to worry about how to transport your wet paintings. Carry two 9" × 12" (23 cm × 31 cm) painting panels back to back, or two 8" × 10" (20 cm × 25 cm) panels using the included adapter bar.
The lid of the pochade box is held firmly in place at any angle thanks to the lid adjustment arm, and it will even go completely flat for watercolor painting. The arm is designed in such a way that the pochade box can be used on a flat surface as a table easel. Rubber bumpers are on the bottom of the box just for this purpose. In fact the Pochade box is the perfect small easel for studio use as well as plein air.
The included brush tray is a pleasure to use. It stows away perfectly on the back of the lid with the help of two magnets. During painting it slips over the right or left side of the palette box and stays put with another pair of magnets. There are indents for seven brushes and a flat area for holding palette cups of painting medium or thinner.
The All in One Pochade Box also includes a 10" x 12" birch palette with a clear lacquer finish, ideal for use with oil and acrylic paints. The finish is easy to clean and the light birch color is good for color mixing. A paper towel holder is also included, and can be hung on the front edge of the box to hold a standard roll of paper towels.
A critical feature of the All in One Pochade Box is the tripod mounting plate. Made of sturdy aluminum, it measures 2½" (6.4 cm) square and has a standard ¼ x 20 threaded hole as the fastening point. The plate is attached to the frame of the box with three stout screws. There is a large area for the ballhead quick release plate to grab onto and hold the box firmly in place.
The Craftech Sienna Plein Air All in One Pochade Box is built with strong finger joint construction using, poplar, maple, and Baltic birch components with a beautiful cherry stain and lacquer finish. The plastic star knobs are far superior to the common wing nuts found in many plein air easels — easy to grip and adjust, with much tighter holding power. The box measures 14¾" × 11¼" × 5½ overall when closed and weighs 6.8 lb.
™ Craftech is a trademark.

I have 2, Heavy, but handy, I like 'em.

You need a good tripod with metal plates, such as Sirui. My Sunpack' 7500's plastic lock and low quality screw broke. It's handy to have all you need in one box. I have the extra tool tray also. Very long brushes can be cut an inch or so. The short Guerilla Painterjars fit as do small medium bottles and pallet knives.Don't use the towel bar much. Do use the wet panel carriers Sierra makes. This box holds 3 wet panels if you keep the paint piles low on palette. I glued 80 grit sandpaper strips to the easel clamps to avoid the metal clips blocking out spots. Strong clamps and can hold fairly large panels in the easel.I have lots of boxes. This is my favorite. But, it's heavier than the smaller Sierra models, if weight is a problem.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Pretty Good, but it has some limitations 3.5 stars
from Windsor, Ontario, Canada
I am a full time professional, all weather plein air painter. Wish I could give 1/2 stars. I bought this because I needed my gear to fit in a backpack. I was flying across country, and would be hiking, so all my gear needed to be compact. What caught my eye was the storage, especially the wet paint carrier, as I am working in oil. I used this over a year, and after I got the right set up it worked well, but I had some trial and errors. You will want to keep the palette top clean or it will not slide in and out well. I covered it with Glad Press and Seal kitchen wrap. The end bar came off the palette, but it was actually ok as I liked to wrap the palette, and replace the end. Magnets worked well. Had to replace one hinge, but was easy to find a replacement. Toss the towel rack it's useless. IMPORTANT!! Use a stationary tripod head with a screw type quick release system. A swivel head tripod top will NOT HOLD the weight of this baby. A lever type quick release plate will also not hold the weight. (BIG Con) It's HEAVY, especially when full! I still had trouble with the screw being hard to reach and turn under the box. I tossed the dividers inside. I found my brushes were too long to fit and had to be put in the box on the diagonal. If you want to paint larger than 8x10 or 9x12 this is not for you. Storing your brushes seperate might be an option. I might recommend this to a friend. It all depends on your painting practice. I'm flagging it a yes, with caution.

Holds a lot, sweet design, not sure how sturdy it will be.
I like this box, but it really needs a case to carry it. It has a neat design, with the panel carrier built into the bottom, and the brush holder clipping to the top. However, I have just touched the Nixon my floor with my foot and had the magnetic cover for the panel carrier fall off. I have concerns about the clips for the wooden brush holder holding, since it only clips on one side and the clips will get more loose with use. Compared with the Guerrilla boxes, the handles and knob adjustments seem cheaper and less durable. I ordered the watercolor palette, and it is very thin and flimsy, especially compared to Guerrillas. And Guerrilla boxes are not what they used to be either! Would have ordered more accessories but the $7 service charge on each deterred me. It does hold a lot of paint, brushes, etc. and overall I am happy with it!

I bought this product despite its sole poor review on your site because I need a more compact and lightweight option to my French easel for a plein air painting trip to a rugged site. Because of the cited poor review, I also bought the Sienna tripod as you recommended. My painting trip is only next month but the all in one pochade box meets all my expectations for quality and versatility.
not suitable for a tripod
The tripod mounting plate is on the edge and the box weighs so much that all of the tripods I tried were unable to hold it sturdy enough to use. You can't carry any supplies inside the box because this add's extra weight and the tripods just can't handle it.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Merchant response: At Blick we always attempt to provide the best information possible to our customers. In this case, we would suggest using a heavy-duty tripod such as the ones we offer by Craftech or Guerrilla Painter, which are intended to hold the weight of a pochade.
