I bought these markers for my daughters who love to draw Manga and fantasy art. It didn't take them long to use up the ink and I was shocked to discover that the ink refills were as pricey as the markers themselves. Thankfully, DB has made these refills affordable! I have purchased over 50 refills, and everyone one of them arrived in perfect condition. These refills are in sturdy plastic bottles and about the length of the original Sketch marker only wider. But one cautionary note: Because the bottles are plastic and are very full of ink, do not "squeeze" the bottle to get the lids off or the ink will squirt out. Hold the hard, narrow sides of the bottles instead of the wider, softer middle; and hold your fingers closer to the lid so there's no ability to "squeeze" it. Each of these refills will fill your markers many times. There are little "ticker" marks on the side of the bottle so you can have an idea about how many ounces/mL's you've used. My daughter colors LARGE pictures (12x16 being the smallest size paper) and she's only used one refill half-way and she's had it for 9 months already. (The skin-colored one is her favorite and she draws life-sized faces, so that particular color gets extensive use). I am extremely happy with the quality and color saturation of the inks. You can pull the tips off the markers and fill the barrel one drop at a time, or I just simply keep dabbing the brush tip and chisel tip with the ink. You can watch it absorb the ink and become dull. Once the tips start to look juicy, I stop adding the ink. It's much easier than pulling the tips off and trying to get the ink into the barrel. You can purchase a syringe, but this is just another step that I don't need to do. You can also purchase the brush nibs at DB for a great price. Not only have I been impressed with the quality of this product, but also the great Customer Service at DB.

One of the best things about Copic markers is their ability to be refilled. Given their price, this is a very good thing. For the price of less than a single new marker, you can refill one that has expired multiple times. It just makes economic sense. Make sure to buy the refill needle as well, as it makes refilling the markers a lot easier and cleaner. If you use Copics as a regular part of your work, definitely go for the refills when your markers run out.

What makes the copics really worth the money is their ability to be refilled. With these refills, you can refill the copic original, sketch, ciao, and wide markers 5-7 times. If you want to invent your own color, you can buy even an empty marker and mix these great inks inside the marker! What makes the copics really worth the money for me is their ability to be refilled. If you have a favorite marker, it might be a good idea to get a refill for it...just so you aren't stuck if you run out in the middle of a project. :)
