Comments about Copic Sketch Markers:
It's easy to get thin or thick lines, looks a little like a brush, can get very fat lines, and the fairly sharp edge lasts a while. Love these!!!

Comments about Copic Sketch Markers:
I love these markers. I am serious about and often sell my art. I knew, from what I had heard about them, that I had to grab them. However, they are a HUGE investment, not for kids, and definitely not for artists that are beginning or otherwise immature. These markers are great. They come in a wide variety of colors that sharpies don't even come close to. Although Prisma color markers also have many colors to choose from, they roll and don't blend nearly as well. The colorless blender is like a dream. It can be used to highlight and blend and create gradients all by itself. They are the best of the best in markers - but have their flaws, too. They run out. FAST. Especially if you, like me, cover large areas with your markers. I have this problem and I've had to replace these expensive puppies already. Only certain colors, mind you, but be warned that you'll need to either replace or refill your favorite colors - which may mean your blender or your black or both, depending. I don't like to hassle with opening and refilling. The price. I personally thing no marker is worth this price, but I pay it anyway. For what benefits and issues they have, they're not worth 6 dollars at normal retail. If you are not committed to spending the money and actually putting these markers to good use, go for something a lot cheaper that may work well.

Copic, コピ-ク (Kopiiku, katakana), こぴ-く(Kopiiku, hiragana, but katakana is the right way), COPiC, Sketch, .Too, Brush, so many ways to say COPiC(Sketch). Yay! So cool! SO cool, I HAD to buy a few more. I love COPiC. B0000 Pale Celestine, BG11 Moon White, BG32 Aqua Mint were the light ones I bought. My collection is slowly growing! (^_^) I used my lighter COPiCs for first time. They were very perfect. I used them for a while. Then I did sampling. I drew a hair sample with a darker pencil, 2B. It is just an outline of hair to test colors. I fill it in with all my new light Copics. I use it on the few days on same paper to test Copic versus Sharpie. My paper is Canson paper. I use the B0000 COPiC, and it looks like dark greenish gray! All the other new ones look like darker grayish green, too. Some are darker than other. I do something else and come back. They have dried to their normal shade of light green! Why are they like this? Very strange.

Sharpies vs. COPiCs

Comments about Copic Sketch Markers:
For a while, COPiC .Too Markers(they are supposed to be spelled like that traditionally)have been compared to Sharpies. Why? Many people consider them a slight similar because of their tendency to bleed, and COPiC also being considered as a permanent at times. But Sharpies, they are used for the office. No one would EVER use a COPiC to label a folder, and disgrace the correct use of the "markers." The COPiC .Too Corp. doesn't just make their amazing markers, they also make screentone, lightboxes, wallets, papers, airbrushes, and all that good stuff. Sharpie is only limited to its marker. People say that both COPiC and Sharpie bleed through the page, but .Too manufactures it own paper, which is likely to prevent COPiC from bleeding. I have just used the same color COPiC and Sharpie on a regular 65LB, 96GSM sheet of Canson. Neither bled through the paper to the next. On the back, though, the COPiC had bled through comparably less than the Sharpie. COPiC markers also come in Wide, Sketch, Ciao, and Original. Some also shun COPiC because of their assumingly 'exceeding numbers' on the cash register. But this 'good quality never comes cheap' rule goes with all professionals(short for professional art materials.)Wander into any store and purchase a set of ten regular HB pencils for daily use, and that's an easy dollar. An easy dollar, also around one professional(pencil.)Buy a SET of ten pencils with professional grades(2B, F, 3H) and that's already looking at around ten dollars. Face it, good quality is going to cut us back by at lest a few dollars. That's why it's important to buy COPiC, not Sharpie. Sharpies are only bold, yet COPiC can be bold AND soft. Majority also states of COPiC's refillable 'features.' Some think this unnecessary, seeing that all ink and color pens have a pretty nice amount of ink in them. Yet some people have accidents, and sometimes the markers get dry already because they leave them out by mistake. What would you do if it was a Sharpie? Some also say that various ink would be a hassle because it would spill. Yes, they DO have a cap. Even if it spills, (I doubt it would) it's worth buying a few. There HAS to be a time where you wished this blue-green was a little, well, greener. And sometimes don;t you just wish you could add the tiniest amount of black to the otherwise bright purple? Various Ink takes care of that. Also, COPiC comes in a bunch of comfortable barrels and styles. They should make a COPiC Original with a brush tip because I kind of miss the square-ish shape of the original.....

Comments about Copic Sketch Markers:
now, dont get me wrong. they are GREAT markers. i'm not saying i had a bad experience with them. but when you think about them, its pretty overpriced. when i did a test, using sharpie and copics, i found copic was only slightly better than sharpie.sharpies took a second to dry completely (they don't smudge though) and once they were "dry" they looked like a copic. and, be honest, when was the last time you actually REPLACED a sharpie? i've had some for as long as i can remember. copics claim to fame is they come in empty bottles, they're refillable and have replaceable nibs. while most people think "oh wow that's cool!" think about it: more stuff to buy, more stuff to haggle with, more stuff to spill, more stuff to lose and forget about, etc. with a sharpie or another brand, if you run out, instead of going to the store, buying the ink, the tranferer, the special cleaning cloth, etc, you could just buy another marker. and last but not least, you could buy 7 sharpies for the price of 1 copic. thats a BIG deal! so if you're like the idea of easy blending and quick drying, go for the copic. and, again, don't take it the wrong way. i LOVE copics, and i just want to show people the difference. basically for professionals, yes, for teen artists,no.

Comments about Copic Sketch Markers:
I use to use Prismacolor Brand Markers until I read up on Copics. The first thing I looked at was the price and that can make you back off a bit but then you look at it over the long run and you can actually save some money because the tips can be replaced at both ends and also the ink can be refilled. I bought a few to start off with and the color that these Copics lay down is awesome. The Brush tip is great for fine detailing while the Nib end is good for a larger area.
Just a few pointers before you buy any of them. Don't let the price scare you, you will definitely be getting you monies worth. The second thing is this, keep in mind when using Copic Sketch markers you don't really need all 346 or more colors. Just buy the ones you know you will use. Also some colors are almost similar to one another. You would have to look really hard to tell the difference in some of them. I only have about 68 so don't get all googly eyes for every color. I have some that I barely use. And 3, its best to use these on a smooth Bristol Board surface for better color lay-down. I use mine on a vellum surface because I put color pencil layers on top. But be careful when using them on vellum and I had to learn this. If you are covering a very large area on vellum paper you will leave behind a pattern because Copics dry fast. Its better you color a smaller area on vellum with these. But I like the way the vellum grabs the color from the pencil on top of the marker.

Comments about Copic Sketch Markers:
What can I say that hasn't already been said? These Markers are in a class of their own. Coloring with them is pure bliss. The ability to blend colors can be done without effort. They're refillable and compatible with Copic's airbrush system. They feel great in your hand and render beautifully (especially on Canson Marker paper). Though I bit pricey, they are definitely worth it when you realize your artwork looks that much more beautiful with Copic's brilliant color. GET THESE MARKERS!!
