I use this for quick sketches, and it works fine. BUT. The other day I decided to use it in a watercolor painting because the Micron pen I normally use for the purpose had broken. This pen nearly ruined my painting because turns out "bleedproof" doesn't mean waterproof! So, it has its uses, but if you choose to buy it, be aware: NOT WATERPROOF!

This was my first time using copic pens. I only purchased one to try it out. I was so happy with it I'm looking forward to ordering more to try the different tip widths. It was great for inking fine details.

I bought the F01 and F02 pens and tested them to make sure they were working before leaving the store. Copic usually makes fantastic stuff, but these just aren't up to their usual standard. Awful to draw with, and impossible to write with.

First, the quality: at best, these pens are on the scratchy side, but given that these are disposable fountain pens, I wasn't going to be too harsh. However, the nibs are poorly made. The angle at which they work is very precise, and it's very easy for the nibs to dry out or skip. If you press a bit too hard, the nib will deform, and then your pen is ruined forever.

Second, the ink. The ink is Copic proof, but NOT waterproof, unlike most other Copic products. (If a Copic product is waterproof, it will say so. Otherwise, assume it is not.) If you want to draw with a fountain pen with waterproof / markerproof ink, it would be better to get a quality fountain pen and fill it with a good carbon ink like Platinum Carbon Ink or Sailor Nano. The comparison in ease of use between the Copic Drawing Pen and even a cheap fountain pen is pretty vast. I have a gold nib on a midrange Lamy pen and it is so much smoother to draw with. Since Copics are so expensive to begin with, I believe you'd be better off just getting a fountain pen and the right ink.

Perhaps it's my particular pen, but this thing doesn't flow very well. It's constantly losing its flow, scraping into my paper instead of leaving a mark. Trying to sketch with it is worthless because you end up having to go over lines again and again.

It works fine if you don't press down on it, but that's what the split pen design is for: line variation.

There's definitely better alternatives that won't be so annoying when you're sketching in the field.

I bought the black and sepia pens they work good like any other pen. They do make some fine lines and are great for sketching but not for finished works. You do have to tilt the pen that way the ink will flow and you'll be able to draw which is a bother since I'm not used to draw like that. Overall good product but not a must have.

I had looked forward to receiving my pen, but have been disappointed in its performance. It looks good, feels good in my hand, but the point seems to drag, and the ink does not flow smothly. My Copic Drawing Pen has been laid aside. It just does not work for me.
