I use these to paint plein air with oils. They feel like a cross between a brush and a palette knife and there's practically zero clean up afterwards. They're great out in the field because you don't have to worry about brushes drying out or protecting bristles. They are extremely versatile with a variety of shapes for different effects. They last a long time -- an excellent value!

I paint miniatures and model horses by applying dry pigments. The Mini set is phenomenal for this. I used to use brushes and pigment dust gets everywhere. The Colour Shapers cut it down to almost zero. I also use the Pearl Ex metallic pigments for things such as armor on miniatures but it was extremely difficult to control with a brush and I usually ended up with a glittery, shiny mess. Not anymore! With these the metallic goes right where I want it with very little mess. I've basically stopped using a paint brush all together except for the tiniest of work. I purchased the Firm mini set and I wish I had gotten the Xtra Firm but it's definitely on my Wish List!

I bought the Color Shapers firm mini set for blending my oil pastels on A.T.C paper. I just love them! Clean up was a breeze, I just wiped the tips with Purell and all the color came off. I plan to buy the extra firm mini set for better stability. I am also getting the firm size 10 taper point and cup round to try with oil sticks for larger projects. I just wished the mini Color Shapers were sold separately. I am especially fund of the taper point and the cup round tips.

I use these blenders when I work with soft pencils to get into nooks and crannies of a design. They help spread and soften shading. Then I finish with a kneaded or magic rub eraser. They're great tools to have on hand.
