Chroma's Jo Sonja Decorative Painting System offers quality acrylic artists' colors plus a range of exciting mediums that can be used on virtually any surface — paper, cardstock, canvas, wood, glass, ceramic, walls, fabric, and more. All products in the range are compatible and clean up with mild soap and cool water.

All Purpose Sealer — This pure acrylic coating can be used as a surface "primer" to seal a wide variety of materials (including wood, metal, and glass) and to help the paint adhere better. There is no need to seal the piece first because the sealer is mixed directly with the color, so it goes on as you add a base coat or decorate.

Clear Glazing Medium — Transform Jo Sonja's paints into transparent colors for glazing, for creating wood stains, or for special glaze painting techniques. The transparent color allows the underlying color or the woodgrain to remain visible beneath the glaze layer.

Crackle Pack — Pack contains a 2 oz bottle of crackle medium, 2 oz Décor crackle, and instructions.

Flow Medium — When mixed with Jo Sonja colors, the paint flows better for long strokes, liner work, calligraphy, and airbrushing.

Water Based Polyurethane Varnish — This water based varnish provides a protective finishing coat of exceptional toughness and flexibility, a coating that resists chemicals, heat, and abrasion. Cleans up with water. Can be used for exterior use by applying at least 6 coats. Clear and non-yellowing. Available in Gloss and Matte finishes.

Retarder Medium — Use this medium to slow down the drying time of acrylic paints. Can also be used for decorative effects.

I use this for my gourd art creations. Originally, I used a spray acrylic but as my pieces got larger & more complex the spray was ineffective for complete coverage. Beside the spray's toxicity and temperature restrictions [it was a pain to use the spray]

I heard about this on Gourd Art website and thought I'd try it. It is easy to apply and thin enough that I do apply 2 - 3 coats but it is fast drying. I also tried Americana but this is thinner and easier to get into tight spots.......

Haven't been using it very long, but I'm hopeful it will hold up - it sure is easy to use.....beside it's wonderful to be able to apply while indoors and not be concerned about toxicity.

Jo Sonja's flow medium is excellent to thin acrylic paint especially when using the air brush. The paint sprays out of the air brush perfectly when thinned with the flow medium. Flow medium adheres to wood ( I carve realistic birds) much better than water. I will continue to use this product.

Crackle doesn't work

The medium has to be so think to crackle that it doesn't dry Transpartent. I'm extremely disappointed I wanted the fine crackle that it ad and it did none of that it only gave me large cracks where the medium was very thick.
