Chromalux creates the most natural indoor light! These full-spectrum bulbs are calculated to be the closest possible incandescent simulation to daylight. Chromalux lighting is the perfect light source for mixing colors, for illuminating a canvas during painting, and for model/subject lighting. (It's not suitable for photography with daylight film.)
Chromalux bulbs don't distort colors — they enhance colors by absorbing yellow and dulling other components. As a result, the light is purified. The blue, green, red, and violet components are strengthened, without producing an imbalance of one color over another.
Chromalux Halogen Flood Bulbs
These bulbs have a color temperature of 4200°K and are rated to last approximately 3,500 hours.
Chromalux Regular Bulbs
These frosted blue bulbs have a color temperature of 3200°K and are rated to last approximately 5,000 hours.
Electrical Warning — All electrical products have U.S. standard plugs and voltage. Due to damage that can occur when using incompatible plugs, sockets, or converters, Blick does not ship electrical items or accessories outside of North America or to freight forwarders.

Comments about Chromalux Light Bulbs:
I was so happy to find this Chromalux spot light bulb. My studio has limited natural light and this is perfect over my work table. It is impossible to find these at local hardware stores, etc., thanks Dick Blick! I bought two!!

Could not work without them
from Cherokee, NC
I only have one small west facing window in my studio so my lighting is very important to me. I have used this light bulb and stand for years and to me, you still can't beat it for color clarity.
Let there be (natural) light
from Taos, NM
As advertised this bulb provides clear, bright light that shows the true colors, an essential quality for evaluating my watercolors.

My favorite lightbulb
from Media, PA
I bought a chromalux bulb in the early 90s from a coop in St. Paul and used it regularly for years at a time over a 20 year period before it went. That's unbelievable for an incandescent bulb. The light is great in the winter. I recently looked them up and purchased several from Blick and they were shipped promptly via FedEx. I wish the full variety of chromalux bulbs were available at Blick. They are harder to find as the company does not sell direct.

The "striking pure white light" that the manufactuer claims on these bulbs is in fact easy on the eyes and allows more true colors. It's as close to a natural light that I have found. It's wonderful in the studio and I've even considered changing all the bulbs in my house to these. I can't speak to life span but I'm hoping the 5000 hours isn't to far off.

Well, it's okay but hits a miss...
from Macy, IN
I brought a couple of 100 watt full spectrum light bulbs and noticed that they did not have stated about lumen rates (light output) on the package which mostly household light bulb have it on their own. It was not quite bright as normal 100 watt household bulb. Look like about same brightness as regular 60 watt bulb. I meant it's alright but hopefully they do last longer life. It probably needs to be in reflector lamp to produce more light output when using in the fixture. Also, very good stimulating to your eyes, almost white balance controls... Overall, it's just averaging. Worth to try. I would saying about somewhat friendly with this bulb as desirable choices.5 of 6 bulbs safely arrival, since one bulb has filament collapsed which means not working during shipment. That's very good enough for me. Nice work with packed as well. Thank you so much...
