This is a very fluid, general-purpose alkyd resin medium that can be used to increase the flow and transparency of Chroma Archival Oils, as well as for glazing and other thin applications. Its fast-drying properties allow a variety of techniques beyond what is normally possible with traditional mediums.

Odorless Lean Medium generates very little vapor, resulting in healthier and more pleasant painting sessions.

i use archival lean medium in my portrait classes - using this product, we can underpaint our subject the first day and it will be dry to continue painting the next day. saves alot of time plus it is a great medium - easy to use.

Archival Lean is a GREAT medium!! Over the years I have used many products in oil painting--but with Archival Lean the search is over. This one item will help your oil paint move across the canvas better--apply a thin layer before painting and then blot. Also, keep some in your brush during your painting session. Just a little--you do not want a soupy mixture. In 99.9% of cases your painting will be dry the next morning. Your oil colors will be vibrant--shiny but not overly so. "Thank you" Dick Blick for carrying this wonderful product.

I dip my brush in lean for most every stroke and I really enjoy using it. I took private lessons from JoAnn Williams Walker and she has become quite popular with her paintings.
She ALWAYS uses the ARchival Lean and won't paint without it. She recommends it for all her students and now I keep it all the time.
