Super juicy and amazing
My absolute favorite markers. They are crazy juicy and rich. I mostly use markers to color in flat areas with a single tone, and with these I can do that without any streaks or imperfections.Compared to these, my Prismacolor markers feel dry, streaky, and scratchy. Which might be desireable for different uses, but I much prefer the Chartpak.

Comments about Chartpak Ad Marker Sets:
I'm using these for a college 2D Design class, and I really love the way they are. I want to get more (maybe some more colors) because they are really fun to use as well. Only down side is the smell, but you will get that with any kind of marker so it's not something you could change with another brand.

Chartpak is the Best
from Tucson, AZ
I love Chartpak Ad Design markers. I have been using them exclusively for coloring my cartoon artwork and for preliminary fine art for 35+ years. No kidding. Nothing else comes close to their capabilities as far as I'm concerned. I've tried a lot of pens in my time. Chartpak is my choice -- hands down.

I am a picture framer and I use these Chartpak pens to color the ends of the frames prior to joining.
Toxic and bleeds terribly
I used this product on some 80lb paper, and it bled. It doesn't have those clear lines that you'd expect from a marker. It also has a weird smell to it, but I can manage that as long as the quality's great. But the quality's not great.Probably would be good for blending, as long as you use it lightly.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I could barely stand using these. They were so toxic-smelling I had to open all the windows in my house.

Been using Chartpaks for approx 28 years.Range-of-Color/Durability/Quality all there. On the plane to Florida in 1996 the flight attendant made the kids put them away for the odor. No big deal. Will be back in the Bay Area in 2017 so we can, again, shop the College Avenue, Oakland location.Sully
More Pleasant Than Bulk Xylene For Transfers
I certainly haven't tried all the competition, but I find this, like most Blick branded products, to stand up well. I use this for transferring laser printer copy to canvas, and my comments apply to that use only. First, it's economical. Not that Xylene is all that costly, but the pen isn't as bad as you'd think, because you need only follow individual lines. This stuff evaporates quickly, but it's easy to do sections at a time. Of course, they do the job they're expected to do. They smell a bit, as expected, but nothing so bad as an open bottle and brush would smell. Your exposure has go to be much less with the pen.
