A free flowing, lower density bluish black, formulated with Ivory Black, Carbon Black, and Prussian Blue.
Charbonnel's Black RSR is an opaque, concentrated black formulated with Carbon Black, and is thus very neutral. It penetrates deeply and wipes easily.

Charbonnel's Universal Black (#55981) has a medium density and is easy to wipe.
Black, Very Dense (#55985)
Charbonnel's Very Dense Black (#55985) is highly viscous and difficult to wipe. A deep bluish black, it is formulated with Carbon Black, Ivory Black, and Prussian Blue. Use it to reinforce other blacks.

Comments about Charbonnel Etching Inks:
These inks are highly pigmented, with a selection closer to most lines of paint. The go to ink for printmakers working in color techniques. Especially useful for viscosity etching.

Charbonnel etching ink has the ability to hang on and in the etched or engraved line, has great nuance of tonalities. Easy to wipe.

Excellent, will always use this ink!
The density of the pigments is unsurpassed...the ink in the tubes are a bit creamier...a modest amount goes very far!
Rich and dense
My first time etching and loved the rich deep black hue...the ink spread thickly but a small amount went a long way...if applied on a heating table the spreading is smoother...I have been advised by many friends who are professional printmakers that this is the best ink on the market...I am taking their word for it!
Excellent etching ink.
