I've tried several different brands, sizes, tooth sizes & weights of paper & haven't found anything better than Canson. Their sketchbooks are just a hair below most drawing paper as far as weight & quality. This sketchbook has no tooth & is heavy enough not to bleed through when you use most pens. I generally use graphite, colored pencils and occasionally pens and colored pens. The paper holds up well under all. Canson is definitely a higher quality paper than Strathford - a paper I used for quite a while before trying & immediately switching to Canson.

I've also scoured physical stores and the web for the best prices & selection & you just won't find anything that beats Blick.

I use this product for all my drawings and concepts.
The paper is nice and has a light tooth for multiple media types. Much better than the Strathmore of the same type.
The only thing that bugs me are the square binding holes sometimes getting caught, so be careful when thumbing through.

Bought a dozen 9x12 last year, buying a dozen 11x14 this year.

I use the 5.5"X8.5" as a journal, note pad, sketch book, memos, jewelry concept drawings, travel diary, or anything else that uses paper. It's a tad larger than my former books, but the extra size has grown on me.... my drawings have expanded to fit their environment. I can even decorate the covers if the mood strikes! It stands up under heavy wear, too; it's always with me in case my muse drops by.

I like having the 100 sheets - I write as much as I draw. The paper takes pencil sketches without mess and Prismacolor glides on beautifully... even on the sheet backs. Pages do warp with watercolor but I use turps for the Prismacolor without any problem.

There are pricier books with better paper and haute names, but they can't do what this book does. This is one hard working pad with a realistic price tag.

It isn't watercolor paper but I have never had any bleeding or paint appearing on the other side. The surface is smooth andworks exceptional with a variety of medias! For the price and the number of pages you get, it is unbeatable. Specifically, I use pencils, inky pens, and watercolors in it.

It is just an amazing paper! not too heavy or thin, smooth or rough. perfect.
For the sketches attached I used: Cotman Watercolors, a Uniball Pen, and a waterbrush on this paper. Everthing was purchased from Dick Blick, except the pen, which was lying around the house.

We are going to use this sketch pad as a scrapbook for my daughter's school work. Most of the scrapbooks I've looked at aren't big enough to accomodate the size of her papers. I still have my scrapbook from when I was little (that is the same size and paper weight and obviously durable!), and wanted to give her the same memories. Fabulous pricing, fabulous shipping speed and I WILL USE BLICK AGAIN AND AGAIN!
