In attending life drawing sessions, I save my Canson Mi-Teintes paper for the "long pose" after doing short warm-ups in a sketch pad. I generally like Sepia or black conte sticks. By choosing one of the mid to dark sheets of paper I do high-lights for a dramatic effect. One side of the paper is rougher and holds more pastel crayon; the other works well for softer effects.

Awesome selection of paper for pastels.
Comments about Canson Mi-Teintes Pads:
Nice color assortment for pastels. Has a nice "tooth" on it to grab when the pastels are applied to it.
Excellent paper for Pastels

Canson Mi-Teintes paper is by far my favorite paper for pastel quick sketching. I use it when drawing the model and enjoy the various color choices available. I also use this paper when teaching pastel or charcoal with my students. Excellent weight for application of hard or soft pastels.

A great versatile paper
I love this paper. I can print black and white photos and they have a rich texture. Plus then I can draw with any pencil or pastel and add more dimension to the image.

I use the smooth side...not crazy about the other side(rough), for pastel and colored pencil. Love the color choices and a great value.

Great pastel paper for the price.

I use this paper for pastels all the time in class and for personal projects. The surface holds up well under pressure and is equally receptive to a lighter touch. A versatile and good quality paper, and I've never found a lower price than Blick. I prefer working with the neutral tints and I'd would like to see a greater variety of light values.
Good Quality and Nice Variety
This was my first purchase of this type of paper as I'm a fairly new art student. I chose this paper because of the value as well as for the variety of tints included in the pad. The tooth on each side of the paper is great and works very well with pastels, which is all I've tried with it so far. I would have rated this best in category, but I haven't tried any of the other papers yet.
Canson's range of dual surface papers offer not only quality and versatility but are also economical. This video will introduce you to each of these special sheets.
