I use the smooth side...not crazy about the other side(rough), for pastel and colored pencil. Love the color choices and a great value.

Great pastel paper for the price.

I use this paper for pastels all the time in class and for personal projects. The surface holds up well under pressure and is equally receptive to a lighter touch. A versatile and good quality paper, and I've never found a lower price than Blick. I prefer working with the neutral tints and I'd would like to see a greater variety of light values.
Good Quality and Nice Variety
This was my first purchase of this type of paper as I'm a fairly new art student. I chose this paper because of the value as well as for the variety of tints included in the pad. The tooth on each side of the paper is great and works very well with pastels, which is all I've tried with it so far. I would have rated this best in category, but I haven't tried any of the other papers yet.
Excellent drawing paper

I have used this product for probably 20+ years for figure drawings at workshops. It is a wonderful surface and durable enough that I can safely store the good drawings for many years without the paper disintegrating.

Got this pad to use with new pastel pencils but have used colored pencils and pan pastels on it as well. Paper performs great, takes wear and tear from erasing. Love that pad has four colors to choose from. Meets all my requirements!!
Excellent Paper for Variety of Uses

Beautiful paper with varied texture. We use this in our laser printer to print gallery labels for a museum. Hard-to-find in stores, but Blick's online store had great customer service.
Nice heavy drawing paper
Just started using this paper for oil pastels. I was able to put down multiple layers of color, creating good depth of color in my drawings. This paper accepted the many layers of color easily.

I love using Canson Mi-Tientes for pastel paintings. I was excited to try a new color and very impressed with the packaging when my paper arrived. Multiple layers of cardboard kept the paper in pristine condition.
Canson's range of dual surface papers offer not only quality and versatility but are also economical. This video will introduce you to each of these special sheets.
