Comments about Canson Mi-Teintes Pads:
I just love the smooth side of this paper for soft pastel. I also love the range of colors that are available! However, I am not a fan of the textured side as it's tooth is just too rough and the pattern of the tooth is too repetitious, for my taste. Many times, the paper arrives damaged with thumbprints, folds and oil spots...so I always order two if I am in a hurry or if its for a time sensitive commission.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

A good paper product for the price, & nice choice of colors.

I am using this product for a class I'm teaching. I have used it before and it is a good choice for beginners.
Good paper, excellent value

Toned paper makes for nice sketching outdoors. There is no blinding white page ruining your vision. I use colored pencils to pull the lights and darks on middle toned Mi-Tients papers and especially like the gray tones. Use a soft colored, pro grade pencil, like Faber Castell.

I'm a paper artist and I love the Canson Mi Tientes papers. It's thinner and and a much nicer texture than any card stock, but firm enough to stand up well in 3D structures. I like having the choice of the smoother or textured finish on each side of the paper, and the colors are always consistent.

Great for pastels and all kinds of paper construction
Beautiful colors and resiliency

The paper is surprisingly great for watercolor drawings. If working with graphite, choose the color of the paper accordingly. One side is smoother than the other. I prefer to work on the smooth side. The smaller size is easy to travel with. I work outside in windy conditions and am able to use a metal clip with a board along the top edge.
Canson Makes Professional Art More Possible
By Professional pencil artist

In my dark background colored pencil drawings, my go-to paper is Canson's Mi-Teintes. The colors are beautiful; there is an adequate number of color choices, and the surface is great for final art drawings that are archival. The only negative of Mi-Teintes is in the black color paper. It has a huge amount of blue in the mix so that reality is always present when trying to make an accurate color in the final art (e.g. one cannot just apply yellow pigment and see a yellow result; with the high blue content of the black paper, the yellow appears green, so one has to work around that in the layering application). I've chosen to go to another paper brand for the black, but am very happy with the other colors. Thanks, Canson.
Canson's range of dual surface papers offer not only quality and versatility but are also economical. This video will introduce you to each of these special sheets.
