The world’s most famous pastel paper is now available on Art Board!
French-made Mi-Teintes has a pronounced texture that holds substantial amounts of pigment. Available in a wide array of colors and sizes, Mi-Teintes has the highest cotton content for a colored art paper, which allows it to perform nicely with many mediums. It's the ultimate surface for pastels, charcoal, or conté crayon.
Advantages of Mi-Teintes Art Boards include a sturdier surface to work on and the elimination of the mounting step, since the papers are already mounted to the boards — ready to frame or exhibit! Both the papers and boards are acid-free and lignin-free.
Canson Mi-Teintes Paper complies with ISO 9706, which ensures optimal preservation and longevity.
Black Conservation Art Board
Recommended for conservation-quality mounting and architectural projects requiring a board with a solid black core, this 3-ply art board is laminated with several layers of pH-neutral glue. It is acid-free and anti-fungal. 1220 gsm.

Heavy textured paper
from Erie, PA
Comments about Canson Mi-Teintes Board:
I'm an experienced pastel artist who is used to painting on sanded paper. I found the texture in the paper to be distracting and it doesn't begin to hold the layers that sanded paper does. The range of colors is nice, but I feel it was a poor choice.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Unlike flimsy paper, the Canson Mi-Teintes Board has the same surface quality, with a little more maturity! Firm and easy to erase or take charcoal pencil. I'll get more.
Mat boards for drawing and display!
These boards are both great for colored pencil drawing and mounting boards for finished art work. Very reasonable cost.
Just what I was looking for

I like the firm, yet lightweightness of this board. Easy to transport, and just the right amount of tooth for pastel painting projects.

This is a very good product and durable. I like the moonstone color and works very well with gauche and colored pencil. The moonstone color is neutral and warm. When the paint is thinned out the warmth shows through. I have been a Dick Blick customer for 5 years they and haven't sent the wrong product That's amazing

Excellent support for colored pencils
By Missy the artist

I typically use illustration boards for my colored pencil work, but I had a project that needed a colored ground, so I decided to try one of the Mi Teintes art boards. I ordered two, and used the "tobacco" colored one for my painting. I was initially worried about how heavily textured the boards were, but I ended up being pleasantly surprised! The finish accepts very heavy layering of multiple pencils, and the light-colored pencils can be almost completely opaque over it. I even did a little experimenting with graphitint and inktense pencils, and the light water washes didn't crinkle or warp the board at all. The water did permanently darken the board, however. I haven't decided what to use my other board for yet but I'm excited to work with this product again!

I love to use the Canson Me Tientes pastel board because it is easier to work with than paper. I generally do larger art pieces, so it particularly suits my needs. It is excellent quality, but a smooth enough surface for my fine line work. My only regret is that it is not in more colors, other than just black and white. They used to have it in a cream color, which I miss.
Perfect for my purposes as a pastel artist!

Love the texture of this paper. Works great for my pastel portraits!

Haven't used them yet but the packaging for sending was sub par. When they arrived I had to get out my eraser to erase stray marks. It would have been better if they had been wrapped in a piece of paper to keep them clean instead of just placed in a package which included pastels.
