Colored in the pulp to ensure light resistance, Canson Ingres papers follow the same lightfast color range as the Mi-Teintes papers. The 27 lb (100 gsm) weight paper is lighter weight than Mi-Teintes, with a "laid" finish for chalk, pastel, pencil, or charcoal.
Ingres is a 65% rag, gelatin-sized, acid-free paper that is ideally suited for drawing and printing. Individual sheets measure 19" × 25" (483 mm × 635 mm).
Color Chart Note — Use this color chart as an approximation of the real color. If exact color matching is necessary, use actual samples of the materials.
Handling Charge — When ordering sheets of paper or board larger than 18” x 24” in quantities of less than 10, a $3.00 per order handling fee applies. Paper or boards may be assorted to reach the quantity of 10.

Will Buy Again
I've found quality paper that I will use over and over a again for making professional silhouettes and Scherenschnitte! I needed a large sheet of light weight paper black on both sides. It has a sight tooth but not enough to interfere. Also should be perfect for chalk drawing.

I did not realize when I ordered that it was 27 lb. not 98. That makes it thin. Still a wonderful drawing paper and great value. I ordered Moonstone for charcoal drawing.

I used these papers for creating marker and color pencil renderings. I will warn you that the markers bleed on this paper and it was my first time using this paper. I also found it to be difficult to create lighter tones with the pure marker on cream paper. However, I could alter the marker tones and shades with overlaying color pencils. Color pencils work excellently.
Lines show through!

Paper is too delicate for sketching. Pencil is erasable, but indentations remain. I use oil pastels and lines show through, thus ruining my piece:( I bought 10 sheets. Plan to return.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Merchant response: We are sorry to hear that this paper didn't exactly meet your needs. The Ingres paper's attributes are put to best use with soft, dry media like charcoal and chalk pastels. Great use for teaching highlighting and chiaroscuro. Students love working with different materials other than white paper!

Quality papers for skilled artists
By Nicolas De la Hoz
from Bogota, Colombia
I have been drawing on those papers (Canson Ingres and Mi-Teintes) for twenty-five years. They allow from a very meticulous and delicate drawing, made in multiple stages, to a very expressive one. You can rub them with cotton rag, create special effects with rubber erasers, or wetting them with water, without them being damaged. They are a poetry piece transformed into paper. And allow us, the artists, to express the best of our technical skills.

An old artform called Quilling
By Quintessential Quilling
from Boise Id
I do an old art form called Quilling in a very new and different way. I discovered that charcoal paper is very good for this and have been using it for years. It holds its shape, is easy to work with and does not fade. All very important things for me.
